Because this is a real story. Life in those years was not as open as nowadays. A French girl, or any Western girl, was inacceptable to marry an Asian. And also in France, he would not have been accepted. Asians were considered low class by the French, Today, they would only face problems with his family but they could easily live in France. It's nice to see the real couple at the end of this video. I have never seen them.

Today 7 months, I proposed in Paris, she said yes and while preparing the wedding she dump me ‘cause I was diagnosed with bipolarity type 1 (she will start to study psychiatry now in march as a medical intern); I’m still suicidal and the only thing that makes me not shooting my brains out in the wall are my children (I am a pediatric oncologist) I miss her so much but I love her much more

I empathise with you brother as I too am bipolar. It is a nasty problem that people who don't suffer from could never understand. By the way, did you know that Darren Hayes suffers from depression? Feel some comfort in the fact that many of the world's top achievers have/had our affliction
