Wrong, the bike must be on the central stand or similar just after turned 5 minutes.....

I have the bike straight up. The kickstand is on my foot so the bike is level. Thanks for watching and commenting

Is that a 650l cluster?
@fatfingergarage22 күн бұрын
It is, the speedometer hooks right up to the stock cable and works perfectly (gps tested accurate), even has the backlight on. I also ran the blinkers and the brights through the cluster bulbs as well so everything works except the neutral light.
When I first got mine going, I didn't use heat. It was fine for a few minutes idling, then it would start to sputter and run rich and spit drops of gasoline out the tail pipes. After that, it would take a few minutes to warm up and then no problem. Even now, my heat will completely turn off about 30 minutes into the ride. I do believe the plastic has some unexpected properties.

Wow. It’s like your harness is longer than mine by the CDI or something. Way too much stress on mine for my comfort.

Could be, I did loosen everything up and massage mine in that direction quite a bit. The big fat zip tie under the gas tank holds a lot of tension, I loosened that one to get more slack.

Great details. I have an Africa Twin and was wondering is this the right bike to complement the Twin. Do you mind sharing What year it is and How much you had to pay for it?
@fatfingergarage4 ай бұрын
It's a 2007 I bought it brand new. I paid 5k OTD brand new. Used bikes in good condition will be 3500 to 5000 right now. Compared to the Africa, this is light and nimble, but still very powerful. I like to say I have the king of Baja and the king of Dakar in my garage. I did have a cr250 as a super lightweight bike just to round off the collection but I just stopped riding it so it got sold. These two bikes do cross over a bit in what they do but also cover all types of riding I do so at the moment I'm complete. I'm in Southern California so the XR is made for high speed desert riding which is perfect, that's almost all we have.

Thanks for the video. Do you know how many miles on that bike?Also what windscreen is that?
@fatfingergarage4 ай бұрын
I don't know how many miles, it only comes with a trip odometer from the factory that goes to 100 miles. I guess maybe 10k, I bought it new in 2007 and only recently started riding on the streets. Windscreen is a generic one from amazon, a.co/d/4VhFfjO

Also what reg rec did you use
@fatfingergarage5 ай бұрын
@@jaenoma3839 I am doing a stator upgrade right now, we can go into detail soon. As far as this one, I used the two wires going to the rear OEM light as my two AC input wires to the reg. the other two are just the battery connectors. I used a simple 4 wire regulator to make life simple. You can see all the parts I've used on this bike on my Amazon list. a.co/ct4oRVl
