Just getting it out there that Aerith's song isn't about someone specific, it's about everybody she's known and cared for in her life. It's a beautiful tragic song since it's basically Aerith saying goodbye to everyone she's known since she'll be "leaving" them in the not too far future. It's a harsh lot in life....knowing how you're going to die. But Aerith was all the more braver for choosing to face it head on, even if she would of liked more time with everyone else.
