I did this swim stupidly, without goggles or flippers about 13 years ago. I just about died coming up. I was inches from smashing my head off the side of the escarpment being pushed by waves. Going back all I could see was bubbles. My teenage self felt invincible. Beautiful area though and I'm excited to bring my kids one day when they are old enough.

if they had the driver on one side the doors could be wider, and if it was driven remotely it would have 360° views.

Hey! Fantastic video. I work for a non-profit called Swim Drink Fish and we would love to use your content on our new platform that promotes the Great Lakes. Is there a way we can get in touch with you?
Great footage! visit this place a couple times a year. Always fun and the diving is second to none :)

Cinema Borghese No, but the rock formations are wonderful, & remind us of the Cathedrals off SW Lana'i, & several other U/W sites with similar sights. And yes you are right, the water temps would require a drysuit or 7 mm most of the year -- unless a guy was AquaMan ;)

I just returned from Charleston Lake this evening and still needed to KZbin it. Enjoyed the video. Neat way of filming a canoe trip!
@chip10410 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I was experimenting with my GoPro edits. The problem with the canoe video I have is that it's a bit too shaky so doing a time lapse solves that issue. Charleston Lake is such a beautiful lake - I really need to explore more of the frontenac / 1000 islands area. Good to hear you also enjoyed it!

nice! btw, are you cool with undertaking tunes mashups at Bandhub?? I for the most part perform acoustic bass ... We may make music to give it a try! That could be rad!

Yes I rode one in summer 2009 (the last time I was at dulles) but im shocked to hear they are still running these, considering the intro of the Aerotrain in 2010.

Did you use the time-lapse feature on the GoPro? What interval in seconds did you use?
@chip10410 жыл бұрын
yep - 1 second interval. For comparison, for my Bon Echo paddling vid (and mazinaw hike) it was on a 2 second interval. The sumo video was 2 seconds as well. HTH!
@SamSitar10 жыл бұрын
long ago i rode them. they are fun. are they double ended?
@chip10410 жыл бұрын
yep they are double ended but when they pull up to the concourse only the driver side is used.

When I first flew into Dulles, it was fun riding on one! wish they had those in Minneapolis! but nooo we would have to walk from one side of the concourse to the other :/ (Concourse C to G) I swear it's a pain in the ass... except taking the tram that would take you from Concourse D to the South end of Concourse C

The mobile lounge is my favorite mode of transportation around Dulles. The first time I rode these was main terminal to B concourse, and I was just enthralled by the view.

The AeroTrain made these things obsolete except for intl arrivals. When you get off a non-precleared flight, they guide you to one to get to immigration and customs in the central terminal.

Some of them still do. There are at least two mains kinds. One kind does the regular round of trips. The other kind (marked by a pair of chimney-like humps) is designated for picking up passengers directly from international arrival flights.

Total respect for Toronto firefighters themselves. Absolutely none, zero, zilch, sweet f*** all respect for either the union or management. To them, two thumbs down or two middle finger salutes. Respect has to be earned.

Toronto issues a new set of bunker gear every 5 years. Bunker gear has to be taken out of service after 10 years so this allows each firefighter to have 2 sets of bunker gear. The colour changes with each issue. This makes it easy when it comes time to take bunker gear out of service at the 10 year mark, they know to take all of the yellow or all of the orange.

Does a red helmet identify the wearer as a rookie firefighter?
@DByers-ci5kr2 жыл бұрын
@@garrettlindgren4626 Red helmets are usually worn by captains. As a note, rookie is typically used to refer to a newly-graduated police officer. Probie is the slang for a new firefighter.
@garrettlindgren46262 жыл бұрын
@@DByers-ci5kr Thanks for replying Dave. Where I worked new firefighters were also called probies. There are many places in the U.S. however, that refer to new firefighters as rookies..
