Over those 50 years have glaucoma rates increased or are they decreasing?
@OptometryToday_AOP2 күн бұрын
Its a hard one to get a clear picture of, I did some digging around & couldn't find any up to date figures for it. One would assume so as having more people who are older would also increace incidence of the disease. A paper I found does seem to suggest that it has been increasing and will continue to increase globally pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7769798/ however in England spending on glaucoma has reduced from 2019 - 2024, (going from £123m to £107m) but this could still be a hangover from COVID nhsbsa-opendata.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/pchc/pchc-2023-2024-summary-tables-v001.xlsx

OMG girl, No questions about diet? Increase omega 3 DHA intake, just fix the problem, stop playing around. What percentage of people do you fix with your questionnaires? Vitamin d for dessert anyone? Do you measure vitamin d blood levels in your cloudy country? Or omega 3 to 6 ratio? Give me an air-conditioner and a computer screen to stare into but don't take away my DHA. Fix some brain problems at the same time perhaps. If you accidentally reduce glaucoma, I guess that wouldn't be too good for repeat customers. Are you allowed to go off script and input the correct food for the correct meibomian oil output?

you noticed the doctor didn't ask the name of the medication the patient uses on occasions? this is because the doctor is trying to give an overview of what is being asked. IT IS A SUMMARY. there are so many questions we ask in the consulting room which will make the video longer and boring. Give the doctor and the patient a thumbs up for making the video interesting and short
@mballer10 күн бұрын
@ossygakaka2038 Sorry, can't do that. The industry needs to fix problems not over test for profit. Diet is the number one category to be interested in, I don't believe it was accidentally overlooked here. 2025 should be the year of MUKHA. Just think of all that extra work, testing and supplies that could be saved if when someone called to make an appointment they were told to start taking a couple of grams of DHA per day while they're waiting to come in weeks later. Many would probably cancel their appointment when their problem mysteriously disappeared. Feel free to give me twenty thumbs up 👍 for my excellent comments.

These contacts were terrible for me! Any type of air movement they dry up in your eyes instantly. Blurry,sticky, very uncomfortable! I live in Florida and in and outside all day long at work. I did notice if I put on sun glasses inside and outside they were better. I chose contacts so I didn’t have to wear glasses all the time. I even tried Bausch eye drops and it didn’t help. Being new to contacts, after 6 months I had to pay for another doctor appointment. The doctor said there’s only 2 brands that I can choose from! Bummer so, one more try and hopefully they will work.

Why are we calling glasses "eyewear" you are implying it's something you simply wear! No! It's a medical device, you don't hear people calling hearing aids, earwear.

Hi there, my friend is blind and she uses prosthetic soft contact lens with the pupil drawing in the middle. we are trying to find a tenting kit so we can accomplish that task for her, since a pair of these lenses now cost over $1000 in the US. we found a couple of companies who have these kits, but they sale only to businesses. do you know where we can obtain one of these drawing kits to individuals like us? Thank you kindly for your time and attention.

The only problem I see with the Perkins is maneuvering the device well enough for glaucoma patients on Bimatoprost who have extremely lush eyelashes.

Currently on my third trial pair (Air Optix, Acuvue, Bausch and Lomb) of multifocals. I seem to have the best balance of near and far vision with the Acuvue Oasys for Presbyopia I have read that these are an older, center-distance design and discontinued. The newer Acuvue Oasys Multifocals, much like most multifocals, are center-near design Do you know if going to the Acuvue near-center design, provided the strengths stay the same, would alter vision in any way? I would prefer to use the newer design and not ones that are discontinued. But don't want the good near/far balance to change

I have bilateral homonymous hemianopia, due to a stroke at 47, as the NHS essentially abandoned me as soon as they could shoo me out of the hospital, no-one has ever mentioned Charles Bonnet to me, I'm ok with my hallucinations of cats and dogs these days, having a hallucination of my own cat can be slightly worrying, but not distressing. Unfortunately the GPs here in Bradford are worthless, and just ignore me when I mention that I've been hallucinating. Still trying to see a neurologist 7 years on, hopefully they'll at least take an interest.

I had verilux glasses early last century👍👍. Happen to catch advertisement about the xr lens, and had to jump on it, I know what it does for me, diamond cut, crystal clear, super sharp, eagle eyes, I had to get them again, now waiting on phone cash when mine comes in. 👍👍👍

Why not make it a like a pair of glasses? so you dont have to hold it?
@AstonVisionSciences2 ай бұрын
It's a good idea Bob, but for the magnification and lighting to work properly on a pair of glasses, the doctor would have to get real close to the patient face and that might lead to some unintended romantic contact. 🤓
