RIP Edward and Hope, a romance for the ages, so glad it was a piece of my 60s childhood TV viewing, fondly remembered..

I know it’s really funny about this very little of this is true. I grew up around the corner from where Charles Nelson Riley lived, and he lived in a luxurious apartment building, and his father was a very proficient illustrator in Manhattan

Every word and movement is like watching a ballet. It's like a broadway play with CNR.
An absolutely lovely wholesome show, from an era far removed from this dreadful one.

I only have just heard of Charles Nelson Reilly and I'm already obsessed! He's like an American Kenneth Williams. Happy to send himself up but is actually a serious intellectual actor.

Impeccable acting! Early in his career, a critic said of CNR, If I see Charles Nelson Reilly's smiling face in the chorus anytime soon, I'll be sick!

Very interesting info in that letter which Charles handed to Johnny. It appears that for this advertiser, Charles was not "conservative" and would not represent their product.

Wow. I’m watching this, and learning CNR directed James Earl Jones in a play at the time, only a few days after Jones’ passing. James Earl Jones (January 17, 1931 - September 9, 2024) Rest In Peace to yet another great one
