i always come back to hijikatas death in the show and try to cope with the movie since it's the best ending we got aside from the game 😞 i feel like he's one of those characters that are meant to die regardless of the route though, the most tragic character imo

Sitting here in 2024 crying my eyes out. I love this anime so much and I can't handle all this loss Q_Q I fell in love with Saito and ended up loving them all (but Saito the most :v) Even if I just finished watching it, I need to rewatch it immediately, brb crying for 3 seasons AGAIN </3

This anime is bad, too many main characters. The guy who i thought it was all about got pushed in a river . The bad guy wh9s reminded me of lu bu die way too early. This just bad . You only need 2 or 3 main characters. Too much going on n seems like they all like the same girls. Glad i skipped after season 1

Spoiler alert: the real history of the Shinsengumi, and Kondo's unit in particular, is even more dramatic than the Hakuouki titles. In real life, in the end, they've deserted, betrayed one another and even their ideals. Heartbreaking really.

I Dodged a bullet with dis one my god.... I saw like 4 n half episode from season 1 n wanted to knw whn the romance will take place.... I just wanted an normal reverse harem with lot of flirting n absolutely didn't want an tragedy..... I hate sad endings n I'm glad dat I looked for spoilers 😮‍💨

if id have to fight, goodly die for my country my men and honner, id rather go out like these men. wish they warn't outnumbered tho sigh, seeing my men die ways brings pain. things went to hell, just when they trusted that mother fucker. that guy when he was leaving, used the fact that he'd spill there secrets if they'd say he's no longer apart of the clan. i hate that bitch soo bad, wish they'd of ambush him sooner.

I cried so much when Heisuke, Souji and Hijikata died....I would say that my faivourite ones are Souji and Saito. My poor babe Souji why did you contracted tuberculosis?? That sneaky disease...And it was never shown that Saito died, but I guess you can pretty much understand that because he marched all alone towards the enemy and the episode ended up like that. They all had their unchanging convictions and fought hard for them till the very end...I think that is precisely what makes them TRuE WARRIORS. They were brave, didn't fear of death, they were loyal to each other and even though Heisuke once leaved Shinsengumi and so did Shinpachi and Harada in the last season, deep inside I believe that their hearts were with the Shinsengumi. The person I pity so much now, is Chizuru..She had to witness the death of the ones dearest to her and in the end she was left alone, without even her beloved one.. Toshii. It pains more, knowing that all of the Shinsengumi members are based on real life people. I think we should take life lessons from all of them, they really were true warriors.. P.S. Soujiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Did Saito really die, all it was shown was him rushing forward, though in History he died at the age around 70 or something. He survived Bakumatsu and took the name Fujita Goro and was a police officer

Why they have to die? 😭😭😭 my heart aches everytime a character dies 💔💔💔 I just cant 😭😭😭😭 Okita Souji is my fav character along with saitou and hijikata. I was really sad when I knew Okita dies 💔💔😭😭 I cried so much bcs this anime. I never feel so sad like this when I watch other anime. Like why??? Why did all the characters die one by one?? My heart just cant accept all this 😭😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔💔

Lmao the Hakuoki anime adaptation just condenses all the bad endings of the other guys (Sanosuke, Okita, Saito) then adding Hijikata's good ending (killing off Sanan, Heisuke and Kazama), then Kazama's neutral ending after the credits (where everyone in Shinsengumi but Chizuru dies; Kazama is very alive btw, whether he parts ways with Chizuru or starts dating her depends on her choices, and his route is VERY short compared to the other bois lol). The anime is as terrible as every anime adaptation of otoges that ever existed. Just read the original otoges, they are never meant to be made into anime anyway. The plot formula of VNs plays very TERRIBLY BAD in anime format.

They all died an honorable death. I don't think Shinpachi died thought (or am I wrong?). Poor Chizuru. Imagine being in her shoes. What next? Where do you go? What do you do? Home will never be the same.

The people going on about who was their favorite character but I just want to say that I loved them all and I cried when they died. For those who have watched the TV series, you should check out the 2 remake movies that cover the 2 seasons. The ending was very emotional and the animations were absolutely beautiful, this is imo one of Studio Deens best masterpiece. The show made me love all the characters and when they died I felt so sad.

@@artistflare9072 There are two movies that covers the anime series briefly but the main point was to adapt it with the other ending that was written for the VN. You must watch the anime first because it provides more detail about what happens, then when you watch the movies, you'll know what's going on in the brief details shown and then you can enjoy the movie despite it being brief cos you know the things the anime showed, I know you feel like “I already know what's gonna happen” but watching the 2 movies wasn't that case for me. Some people just watch the movies because they think its better and newer(which it is) but they make a mistake when they get confused because they didn't watch the anime version. You have Movie 1:Kyoto Ranbu and Movie 2:Shikon Sokyu. The movie is imo better, the atmosphere of the show is so different, historical feeling and the animations are very beautiful. You must watch them. It also has very good ost done by Kawai Kenji.

@@yuh-kaehuang4154 I did my research. I've already watched the anime 5years ago. Apparently the movie is really different and brief, especially with character deaths. So I think I'm going to rewatch the anime. Sucks since I know the movies animation is much better. But thank you!
