Well in our time at this crossing, 24h after crossing it, 3 rigs got stuck and had to be rescued. Tina did it alright with a lot of self control from the skinny pedal. Have you been up to the Cape?

Yep not an easy trip but one hell of a ride, did you have a fuel drop or carry it all?
@SALTANDCARBONАй бұрын
G’day Brendan 🤙🏼 thanks for your comment! We carry 220L of diesel so it wasn’t necessary to fuel up along the way. Last fuel fill up was in Derby and then refuel was in Kununarra only. However there are many fuel stops along the way for cars with smaller diesel/petrol tanks. It tends to be a bit deerer to fill up on the Gibb so just be aware.

Love that, I'll be there one day to video it all too ahahaha

Yeah its a pretty special place! Hopefully the roads are a bit better when you go there. If you’re keen, you could do the coastal road from Thunder bay to Steep point which we unfortunately didnt get to. Next time!

Untill recently when they built the coastal road, the only access into these larger lobster fishing towns such as Cervantes, Jurien, Green Head, Cliff Head, Dongara etc.was from the brand highway, along gravel roads, but in between these towns there were many smaller settlement's from Geraldton to Perth sometimes just a few miles apart but at least every 10 miles and the only access was along the beach track, but you could drive all the way to Lancelin where the bituman started and we did, without the aid of 4 wheel drive, to get to Wedge Island from Lancelin, it was either wait for low tide and drive up the beach and that was the quickest taking 18 minutes, or drive through the desert of large shifting sandhills, and local knowledge was required to navigate these , especially at night, the desert was also the naval bombing range, and it was not uncommon for a wayward US naval ship bomb to lob next to a shack in Wedge, as a means of recompense for a damaged shack they would helicopter in a couple of pallets of sea rations for the locals, which were more than appreciated for the inconvenience of being bombed by the US navy, i became bogged one late, cold, dark night at the pinnacles while driving home to Green Island a couple of miles south of the pinnacles from Cervantes, and that is where my daughter was conceived 43 years ago😏but i digress, i have lived and fished in just about every village and squat along the coast, as well as every island group of the Abrolhos, and those days of visiting friends in squatters shacks, before the government bulldozed every last one down, although they missed the trams, were the best years of my life, where the beer flowed freely, and clothes were optional 💫🙏💞

Hi guy's The little railway bike, you sit on it feet on the front pegs hands on handle bar's, push with feet pull with hands, its a ratchet type system that's how they used to travel on the railway line's, if trains coming pick it up and removing till safe to go again 😎😀👍
