🚩FACT🚩 Assembling the ship can take 7 months. Building it from scratch takes years 😒

A "starship" - 8 ships in that class, all named after a bright star. Another contrast - in one sense - pretty close to a Battleship in size - both max speed 33 kn- this is 60 feet longer than IOWA class. Near same full displacement - and beam. thanks.

Merci pour ton effort, mais l’anglais est le meilleur choix pour parler aux américains. C’est Canada qui parlent de français, pas les États-Unis, lol

If the ship was leaving drydock, how did the tug get behind it???
@HanwhaPhillyShipyard2 жыл бұрын
The ship was actually entering the dock in this video so the tug guided it into place. Once the ship is docked, the tug can slip by via a very tight lane between the ship and other side of the dock!

That's my great-uncle's ship! I am so proud of the sacrifices he made and I'm so proud of my family for keeping his memory alive.

Looks like a prison ship, just saying. Wondering what’s really it’s main purpose is? Is there a killing room on board? Lots of questions, deprogramming along with confinement? Look at the comments, no likes, just feel good words. Really folks, wake up. It’s here in plan sight.

How many ships can you have docked and working on at one time, assuming full capacity?

These are great ships.

Currently, we have an order for four vessels while the U.S. DOT Maritime Administration holds an option for a fifth. The first four ships are destined for SUNY Maritime Academy, Maine Maritime Academy, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and Texas A&M Maritime Academy. The fifth ship would be issued to California State University Maritime.

@@HanwhaPhillyShipyard fantastic! Looking at the 2020 annual report, the recognized construction contract profit for the NSMV was ~ 5.8% (note 2, pg. 35). Is that roughly the margin we can expect moving forward?

Congratulations to Philly Shipyard. I am very happy about this new order. You can be proud, steel cutting isv a very nice ceremony. I know this because I also work at a shipyard in Germany. I am also proud to have been a part of Philly Shipyard, when the first container ship was built for Matsen I was on site for a while.
