actually thats at the alexander stadium in Birmingham - Former national coach Jon trower was in the background as well -coach to steve backley - (and me) yatsey is one pf the funniest guys you could ever meet and it was a pleasure to know him and hang out with him!!! He is a crazy guy and was a very good athlete at lifting and jumping!!!

One of the many great Swedes! My friend Trevor and I came down to see this competition and watched Gavin Lovegrove take the win, throwing over 84.5m in what was quite difficult weather conditions. As well, the early evening sun was directly in their eyes while throwing. You can see Dag trying to see where his javelin went. It was a fantastic competition watching the big guns throw.

Unorthodox heel-turn. Adding the extra quarter turn would have avoided the significant loss of travel/sprint distance available to him had he heel-turned from the standard position . . I wonder if he had left ankle/achilles tendon issues or chose the heel-turn and unorthodox start for other reasons . .?
