The only thing to add here might be to emphasize the series of events of the Texas Revolution of 1836 leading to the admission of the Republic of Texas as a slave state in 1846 leading directly to the Mexican War of that year. Many Southern planters were aggressive in using war, armed squatters and all levers of executive, congressional and judicial government to expand slavery. Armed squatter used bullets instead of ballots to spread slavery into the Mexican territory of Texas during the early 1830's. Mexican officials had outlawed slavery in 1829 under its laws with exceptions for slave owning Anglo settlers to get some population into Texas to stop raiding Commanches. The Anglo slave owners and other Anglos in Texas were mostly Southern whites who pushed a pro-slavery agenda. The battles of the Alamo, Goliad and San Jacinto in 1836 were really battles to permanently push black chattel slavery into Texas through independence from Mexico. We should look at the signing of 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo as the poison pill of debates over the expansion of slavery into the new territories. Once the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed the course towards civil war became almost inevitable. We should remember too that Southern planters had aggressive designs towards starting a war against Spain to acquire Cuba for new slave territories. The Southern planter class was an oligarchy of power that aggressively supported slavery expansion by threat of violence, armed squatters and by every lever of government they could pull. Charles Sumner mentioned this "Slave Power" oligarchy in his "Crimes Against Kansas"speech. "Bleeding Kansas" was just another example of Southern planters using armed squatters who used bullets instead ballots to decide popular sovereignty in Kansas.

I need help with my son he’s done rehab but started doing drugs again he’s hooked on fentanyl my brother literally died a month ago from an overdose and I’m terrified of losing my son. Rehab never helped my brother & it didn’t help my son honestly rehab has a bad track record I feel like I’m better off trying to help him at home but I don’t know where to start
