Can it make the 808 hihat sound from Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing?

I've had the Zeroscope for a year now, but I only realised today that it doesn't seem possible to switch between channels 1 and 2 in single mode. Single mode always only shows channel 1, channel 2 can only be displayed in dual mode together with channel 1. Somehow strange, or have I overlooked something?
@DominikVogelModular2 ай бұрын
you are right, channels can´t be switched, the module is very basic.

Sorry for the strange question, but what can the Acidlab Miami do that the Elektron Analog Rytm can't, both in terms of hardware and software?
@DominikVogelModular4 ай бұрын
well machines like the rytm can do a lot more, the miami is just an 808 clone, all analog, no digital effects on board. the difference is you can directly tweak the parameters of all drumvoices without selecting one and without menu diving and you can send cv triggers
@lunabeige4 ай бұрын
@@DominikVogelModular but also you have 11 mono outputs that i can run through different hardware effects into an interface and record each sound on a separate track in realtime. Can the Rytm do that?
@DominikVogelModular4 ай бұрын
@@lunabeige yes i think rytm has seperate outputs as well. not 100% sure bc i never had a rytm, still running my machinedrum mk2.

Nice one. I have always been intrigued by the Rainmaker. How do you like that module.
@DominikVogelModular4 ай бұрын
its one of my all time favs, the possibilities are almost endless combining the delay and the comb filter and the workflow for creating or editing is very smooth. sometimes the soundcharacter tends to be a bit digital, but usually you can tweak around that.
@VinceFinemMusic4 ай бұрын
Hello, thank you for your video. I'm a little confused at the 00:47 point you say you can sync the recording to a clock or trigger, but you use the gated record input instead of the CLK input. According the manual, the gated record input that you use only records when the gate is high and stops when the gate is low in the input. The CLK input is used to sync both record and playback to the clock pulses. I'll have to practice more to confirm what the manual says. Do you have any further insight into the two inputs?
@DominikVogelModular4 ай бұрын
yea that´s right! i´m only mentioning triggers are possible, but showing just the clock/gate method as an example. maybe i should have explained this better, but the video is meant as an overview and not a full tutorial 😅
@samuelcameron93535 ай бұрын
I think you did not mention the jumper for the gate out derivation. I think for many it might be more intuitive to adjust this as otherwise the gate is always on until you move your hand near when probably you would rather have it come on when you bring your hand towards like striking a drum. Also the documentation does not give the voltage ranges.

that´s right, thanks for mentioning!

Nice one. I got a scion a while ago and just put it in my case and the left most button at the bottom is sticky. I hope that is not and important button! I wanna make something like this!
@DominikVogelModular5 ай бұрын
you would need that button to freeze channel 1 or to enter quantized mode (and also need to press all 4 buttons to enter the mode menu). i also did a scion tutorial in 2 parts on this channel, if you wanna learn more about it.
@allweatherhaulage5 ай бұрын
@@DominikVogelModular OOh I'll have to check out your tutorial. I took some time and found out my problem. My rails were touching the button which is really low in the module and it was sticking the button. If I lift the module and tighten it slightly higher it resolves the problem. Now I can learn from your tutorial!

Hi, I just got the Zeroscope. I like it, but I have one problem with it. If you're playing something through the Zeroscope without touching it, the dispay turns off after a short while. This is rather annoying. Is there a way to keep the display on, even if you don't touch it for a while?

i think type 2 can take more overdubbing and so have a longer lifespan. but yes, good quality type 1 tapes also work fine and are easier to find these days

Completely disagree , I have two , I find it incredibly easy to use in any mode , my eyes are old and bad but I do wear glasses . The module set is as most intellijel modules , easy and immediate and as deep as you want to go . To each their own , lucky for eurorack there are scads of alternatives now.

I love mine, like the reverb of a metal tank that you can shape and bend with cv. Very expensive for such a niche sound.
@DominikVogelModular7 ай бұрын
the modulations are the bonus, but you can realize all the common standart type reverbs, from drum plates over rooms / halls to cathedral / cave like reverbs.. so maybe its often used in niche music (bc its eurorack obviously ^^), but i wouldn´t say the erbe-verb sounds niche, it can sound also very natural..
