They are still (or better AGAIN!) in use in every birthing institution here in Germany 😊even though many women like to give birth on all fours or standing or better hanging while holding on to a rope 😊 gravity helps and so does an open pelvis ❤

I have a theory that we actually used to be way smarter and the system we have set up now is intentionally idiotic and backwards. Then history has been somewhat fabricated and spun to sound like it is the other way around. We have women lay on their back, the worst possible position to give birth in, we use drugs to ease the pain which is only from the birthing methods, and the drugs make it even more difficult. Then we give the woman a c section, which is far more dangerous and doesn't allow the baby to get a natural microbiome from the mother vaginal canal. The more and more you look into this the more you see how backwards we are doing things now.

actually woman shouldn't give birth laying down, it was only done for the nurses comfort. midwives would tell them to lay down on their back but it's a stupid myth. it also will make the person giving birth dizzy because the weight of the newborn is causing complications by constricting the veins.

I'm curious what the original birthing position was, concerning this one came about because of a kings messed up kink and resulted in a higher mortality rate
