Tough fishing when the bait doesn’t want to cooperate in Tomales. Still got 1 nice halibut. Too bad you didn’t land that shark. Hopefully this next heat wave will bring back the bite and warm up the water. Tight lines

Tough day for sure but that’s fishing. Thanks for the tip of numbing your catch in ice water before bleeding. I’m going to adopt that b/c it makes a ton of sense. By the way…another smooth, professional net job! Do you think the conditions that fostered the presence of Threshers and crabs this trip had anything to do with the absence of anchovies, shiners, smelt? Lastly, I’ve seen you release Leopard sharks but wondering now if you would have kept the Thresher for table fare. Are they better to eat than Leopards? Size limit? Thanks for another great vid…I always feel as if I’m in the boat with you guys.

@@aProudOG thank you for watching well the anchovies start to leave back to the ocean at about this time ,and yes we would of keeped the thresher i caught one last year and when I got to the dock I had a crowd of people around me asking if they could have a piece so I shared with everyone and I ended up taking 2 pieces it was good .

I've only fished Tomales a couple of times, but I noticed that some of the bigger halibut will make that hard run like a ray or big striper and leave you confused (but happy) when you get it to the boat. I've not seen that in SF Bay at all.

Good stuff dudes! I’m new to this and have been striking out left and right. I’ve been out to tomales 4 times, trying to fish for halibut or Striper. How do you fish for halibut out there? I’ve tried a hali rig with frozen bait and keep catching a bunch of seaweed. Haha… do you troll on the bottom? As for Striper I’ve been using 4” chad swim baits but coming up short in that area too… I guess my main question is do you troll on the bottom?

Tomales bay it’s a beautiful place to be at in a good weather day cause u can be out there 10 hrs fishing with no problem but the secret is to catch live bait in the morning keep it alive and drift it’s kind of tricky but ones you learn the ropes you will be a happy camper
