Everything about this piece is haunting. The lyrics, the guitar, the vocals and harmonies. The emotions become awakened and drive home the message into the soul. War is futile and the subsequent sacrifice of human life is a travesty.

Not quite as good as the live performance in Manassas, Va., in '73. But great anyhow. One of the most hauntingly beautiful songs of our collective youth ...

We've come full circle. Young men are sacrificed for political gain by whatever side is in power. Some of those supposedly in the legitimate anti-war movement were actually in the "look at me" movement. John Kerry took his public anti-war activities and parlayed that into a political career. Now he can't support sending billions to perpetuate war quickly or enthusiastically enough (for example).

The best recording of this song , Steven could still hear, and his playing was unbelievable ! David and Graham were clean, and at their best voices. Just absolutely incredible!

Such a powerful piece of music. It has been so beautifully written and sung. The motto behind the song is elevating. Music, harmony, guitaring, all put together to make a brilliant piece of music. The harmony is simply angelic. Stills guitaring is sensational. The ending harmony, without the guitar is just mesmerising.

The only good thing that came from the Viet Nam war was the 🎶 So many innocent young men gave their lives in a sensless war. I am so glad that i grew up in the 60's & 70's, i lived in the best generation of music ever. We definitely went thru some seriously bad times, the VN WAR, racial riots, protests, JFK & RFK assassinations - but we had the best music, best cars, best friends evet 👍🏻🇺🇸🙏🏼

The truly sad part of war is that so many fine young men died all alone, far away from family & friends, on some blood soaked beach, or in unknown jungles around the war. Good young men died in wars that very bad men start 👎🏻😡
