The band on this that goes around the collar is very stretchy. My dog still has hers on, and it hasn't broken yet. ByteTag also offers free replacements for broken tags, no matter how they break. Just something to think about. You do what ever makes your pet safe. Thanks for Watching.

No, you can't. The only way to see their location is if someone scans their tag and sends you the location. There is no actual tracking device in the tag. Thanks for the question!

You have to put a key ring on the silicone ones to attach them. I put my dogs' on the same key ring that their license from the vet is on. I also believe you can get some key rings cheap at hardware stores or Amazon.

@@BeingButlers why don’t they just include those? Now I can’t even use them because I have to go purchase something else. If they’re so cheap, Byte should just include them. How stupid! I managed to find one & it’s impossible to get it on the ring. This is super annoying! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Carisa Wilkey I'm so sorry you're running into issues. I was surprised when mine didn't come with the ring too. Maybe contact their customer service and let them know how you're feeling. Maybe they will change this issue in the future.

You're correct it isn't a live GPS tracker. As said in the video, the GPS only works when your tag is scanned by someone, and at that point, they can send the coordinates to your phone in a text. I'm sorry if you thought that it would be a live GPS tracker. Any live GPS tracker would cost a fortune and need to be charged. I hope that this product still works out for you.

When your dog goes missing, you go onto the website and mark them as "lost." The person who finds them scans the QR on the tag and it sends you the GPS location. They will also then be able to see the info you put in the tag at set up, so they can call and contact you as well. I hope this helped.

I want to edit to say that, you don't have to mark them as lost for the GPS to be sent to you. You'll get a text notification of their location once the tag is scanned.

I agree. You really never know who will pick up your pet if they're missing. Personally, I'd rather have something in case rather than nothing. That gives the person who found them an opportunity to be a good person.

Since I've posted this, my dogs have worn them every day, all day. They haven't faded at all. Winnie likes to dig and roll in the dirt so the tag (with her collar) has gone in the washer and dryer as well. It still looks like new. The silicone is by far the best and longesr lasting one for our active dogs.

I agree and am the same way. I didn't sign up to be an ambassador until after I tried out the product to see if I liked it or not. I recently made a video review for their updated version of the ByteTag and by far like the newer version better. This one had its faults for sure but the concept was enough to make me want to promote it. And to be clear I do make a percentage off of each sale that uses the code. Thank you! I have the byte tag set to only show my info if I report them as lost. So if it's scanned through the video it shouldn't show any of my actual info. I will test it and make sure though. I appreciate the heads up.

Thanks for the question! For the GPS if your dog goes missing you go on the site, log in, click on your pets profile and mark them as "lost". Then if anyone scans the tag it will send you a text and let you know where it was scanned from. The person that found them could choose not to notify you, but you would have the location through their scan of the tag. I hope this helps!!

As far as I know the tag has to be scanned for you to be able to track, but there may be a way to track without that I don't know about.

Oh no, I'm so sorry that that happened to you. Maybe they had a bad batch? 👎 I've had mine since this video and they're still doing good. I did however change the ring out to a smaller one so they didn't hang so low on my small dogs. Have you tried to contact the company's customer service? Maybe they can help, refund or replace.

Larger dogs tend to play rougher, but, my husky was scratching an itch when he started yelping. I'm glad I was home, the dew claw was caught and bleeding significantly.
