Not exactly. He ported it to NT environment as "WinDOOM", a proof of concept to show off to Microsoft execs that it can be done under their upcoming DirectX API. There are a couple of leaks of this build floating around. Doom95 doesn't credit Gabe Newell at all and seems to have been built from scratch on its own.

Why does description say nothing about app, system, hardware, config? What? Why aren't you running it in MAME directly? That will always better than RA. And why would you be saying "running on Linux" in the title when it's just running in Retroarch in MAME core?

That's what I have installed. As to why I don't use Mame that's what I have installed. I find Mame doesn't do well with older Roms. Some roms work better with other older version of programs others work well with newer stuff.

If there was an audio track I'd be bitcrushed to hell. Since the limitations of the N64 audio hardware. Some of the lighting wouldn't work as well. But besides that. it mostly looks authentic. Or at least an early 3d PC 3d game. Maybe Rage 128 or 3dfx.
