Thanks for the detailed videos! Doing our wheel replacement today got 6 seasons on the T4S tracks before a couple bearings blew out. Followed the Camso recommendation and adding 80w oil under the wheel caps before each season helped extend the bearing life.

You recommended buying a complete wheel kit instead of individual wheels. Have you found that the wheels and bearings all wear out at about the same time? I have a couple of bearings that may be showing some wear on my 2019 tracks but the rest still appear to be as new. And if I get the kit should I only change each wheel if and when needed? Thanks.

Btw, buddy loosened that bolt you say you should never touch and had to buy an alignment plate to in tighten properly, took 2 weeks to receive and was wrong one. Needless to say it was bad news so really good advice, never loosen that bolt.

Thanks for the thorough instructions. One benefit of installing yourself is before they're on it's alot easier to poor a teaspoon of 90 weight motor oil in each bearing while it's on it's side. Leave over night so the oil goes into bearing, flip and do other side the next day. Takes 3 days but about 5 hours in total work and I'm no mechanic, important to get alignment perfectly straight, take a ride and check again, always seems to go out after a ride. Track tension tool is essential but the rest is just basic tools. Check adjustments after every 20 hours or ride time.

I watched all your videos on this. My question is can the bearings be changed with out changing the wheels. Use set on my area for a decent price. I know it needs some bearings what to see if its worth it or not.

Do you use a silicone to hold the bogie wheel caps back on?
@Rasteell
@Rasteell Жыл бұрын
From what I've seen on other videos the caps are nearly airtight. It takes some persistence (patience) to get them to stay on while the compressed air bleeds out from under the cap but, once set, they'll hold themselves in nicely. Just hold the cap in place for a while (less than a minute) to give the air a chance to escape.

Do you need to replace whole wheel or are the bearings removable?
@ragdump

Yes you can get the bearings on ebay and a snap ring holds them in

Can you change the bearings in the wheels ?
@nashguindi

After a few hours of use (about 100) the wheel barrings loose the rubber seal and start rusting if you go in water lots I suggest greasing after 20h of use and pulling off the rubber seals after you go in deep water or snow. I alwase find water in there. ;-)

Friendly advice always be in 4x4 with the tracks otherwise you place too much stress on the front end. Ask me how i know this.

What holds the wheels on that don't have a bolt to hold it ? How do you release those ?
@downhillracer8268

They are a press-on fit. That is where the 1" socket is utilized with the mallet to drive the wheel and bearing back on the stub axle. The factory puller is the correct tool to remove the wheels and bearings.

Great video. Camoplast is awesome. I flat spotted a few bogies on the front and they shipped a complete new set of wheels and included the puller. They didn't charge me a cent for the wheels, puller, or freight to Alaska. I've been hesitant to start the job but your video explained everything. Thank you.

Jose Samilpa thanks for the reply. If you go to chapter 5 how to replace wheels and tracks on T4s on my page and advance the timer to about 19:20, I start talking about how to set up track tension. If you have any other questions do my best to answer them. Thanks again.

A question came up by email: What tool did I use to test my track tension? That's a great question. I use the Wood'y track testing tool, Model # TRAK-TOOL-1, part # 389-8767.It can be used for all types of ATV tracks, UTV tracks, toboggans/sleds and snowmobiles, this took 4 days to arrive. It a great tool, It measures in inches, kg, lbs, cm, mm and deflection. The T4S manual shows the Camso track testing tool, part # 2000-00-3125 but, this was very difficult to find, and the shipping time was 2-3 weeks even at a atv dealer.Keep the questions coming and you all have a "HAPPY EASTER" eh.
