There are some incorrect statements in this video. Older adults with AST are not so obvious to spot. And boys are diagnosed much more than girls because girls present differently and they can also really well in social situations. Boys not as much so girls are under diagnosed it’s not that there are more boys being born with autism. There are just less girls being recognized as having autism. I have ASD and I am 61 many times when someone is treating me badly or being condescending I start to feel stressed and escalate. I can start to make some pretty sarcastic and cutting comments when there is an injustice of some kind. My mouth gets me in trouble sometimes because, I wasn’t allowed to speak out when I was younger now I will. It is not against the law to say how you feel. No police officers should put their hands on another person aggressively that is already mentally stressed and is no threat to others.

This makes sense, thank you! but when that PEEP dial is being used on a CPAP, is it doing the same thing? wouldn't the lungs just explode?

You're right, I just realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's crazy! Although what he previously talked about was pretty decent, it was difficult to follow, I just go'ogled the latest in Mario Volpstein's Erections at Will, it's so much simpler and potent now!

Most images, videos and pathologies show infant dx. and tx. yet subject matter is titled pediatrics. I came looking for material supporting 8-12. Consider changing title.

I realize this video is reportedly 8 yrs old as of today 11/28/23 but as a seasoned but retired cardiology nurse specialist who spent years & years teaching medical staff, i.e. Physicians, Nurses ancillary staff in critical care therapies, I’d like to suggest the title is changed here. If this video’s target was the CHF PATIENT/Family it’s far too technical but also, the slides are shown too fast. I hope in the past 8 years, there are changes to improve understanding & application. Edit: who is the target audience? If medical staff using repeated abbreviations is still not a great idea.

Do you look at the internal jugular or external jugular for JVP (and is this different than JVD)? The illustration shows internal jugular, but seems like the photo shows external jugular.

I don’t understand why if the space is empty packing is not advised
What we need to do is train people with autism as EMTs. Then the cops can stay out. Violence is not a characteristic of autism. If you rapidly approach a person and try to contain them, that will stimulate a defensive reaction. They will know when you are being condescending.

Great video. Very Informative. The patients are very educated on their LVAD, which is awesome. and are aware of what they need to do in case there is a malfunction. our system had some patients come in with LVAD and talked to us and the patients are so informed as well as their caregiver.

I’ve seen physical & emotional child abuse on some TV shows & movies & the Goanimate grounded videos, I know child abuse when I see it, I sure don’t like child abuse. If kids think they’re being abused or neglected, they should talk to caring adults they can trust about it, & it’s important for them to tell the truth about what happened.

I’ve read two of Joy Berry’s Alerting Kids To The Danger Zones books, the book “Abuse & Neglect” discusses physical & emotional abuse & neglect, & the book “Sexual Abuse” gives a frank discussion about sexual abuse. Both books can help kids learn that they should talk to a grownup they can trust if they think they are being abused.
