This tuner has been in the business for over 20 years. They optimise air/fuel to be as close to stoichiometric, across the RPM range, as possible. Obviously, where timing changes were advanced or retarded, they increased or decreased fuel flows in those zones-respectively.

Hi, thanks for your message. From what you've described, it sounds like your car is going into a type of "Limp Mode". For horsepower, the numbers you've shared seem very low, and the torque more accurate. I'm not sure how you achieved those horsepower numbers, with double the amount of torque-I've only usually is seen this in diesel engined vehicles? Also, if you have produced that much torque, I believe your TCU could also be a cause of the "Limp Mode", because the 722 transmission comes in different torque handling specs from model to model. The 55 AMG version of the 722 transmission will start to fail at anything over 500Nm, which I know from experience. I don't think your SL transmission is able to handle the power? I hope I've listed enough here for you to look into as the cause of your problem. Also check your spark plugs, O2 sensors, and ignition cables/coil packs? You should definitely connect your car to Star, and see what ECU/TCU errors may be showing.

Mtrip Group Bussiness if the TCU is responsible for your SL going into limp mode (due to the amount of torque your engine is producing), the only options you have are to reduce hp and torque, or change your transmission for one which can handle the power increase you’ve developed.

In all honesty, the audio in the video doesn't do it justice. This car is more than loud enough. Any louder, and it would be annoying to drive.

As long as it’s a custom remap, not just one of the “off the shelf” ones, then fuel economy and overall performance will be improved. It will not only pass emissions tests after the mapping, but pass them more efficiently than you stock map. Make sure you go to a place with a good dyno, and who really know their Mercedes cars. Ben Adams remapping will massively help you. 100k miles on a Mercedes engine is nothing!

James Oakden Another alternative would be lpg, liquid gas, I used to have it on a 745, in Europe petrol ends up summing to a lot. I was running it for chips. But the instal in. V8 is 1.5grand minimum. How much you thing a custom remap would cost?

Ben Adams I don’t know where you’re located, but most custom remaps are around €300-€400.

This isn’t a stock supercharger. The W211 E55 version has a clutched pulley system. If that is modified to a fixed pulley- it’s a great system. The way to make 400hp on a 3.0L engine will be to run more boost. But, I don’t know how reliable that would be on your stock engine internals and transmission. Also, isn’t the 3.0L engine a V6? If so, you would need to use the supercharger from the C32 AMG, or Chrysler Crossfire- as they share systems.

Abyss iSaL7 compared to more modern transmissions, I totally agree that it can be sluggish. But, it’s bullet proof on a stock engine-and once, it was ahead of its time Lol

B BB horsepower gains from the exhaust work which was done in this video will be extremely minimal. These modifications focus more on allowing the E55 to sound more like a V8 should sound, and on saving weight.
