When you skip a boss and grind 80 years and it's suddenly too easy

He only appeared for a few minutes of an EP and can already be placed among the interesting characters, with a very cool charisma and villainous presence in the anime.

I will put 2 cents here and say that Qual was master of the Zoltrack one of the best spell in the current Meta of their world. However Frieren is Jack of all trades as she was able to Seal him with her party. Come back within 80 years to kill him with his own spell also before showing him his spell his no longer a one hit kill. All this within 80 years, we dont know how long it took him to come up and perfect that spell.
I think Frieren might just be explaining things for Fern's benefit here, but it would make a lot of sense for Frieren to respect Qual more than any other demon we've seen her interact with. He's a more upright demon compared to the likes of Macht or Solitar, or most of the low-ranking demons we see in the show, and it seems the thing that Frieren hates the most about demons is that their dishonesty makes it pointless and tedious to try and communicate with them. Qual doesn't look like he plays petty tricks, and the way that he immediately tries a barrage of spells to overwhelm her defense (the same move that Frieren taught Fern to use) shows that he's really someone with the fundamentals of a first-class mage. Frieren loves the study of magic, so it's probably hard to hate the guy who basically discovered lightning bolt. Hopefully we'll get to see more of him in his prime, there's not nearly enough of the great demon mages in the story so far.
this episode single handedly made this my absolute favorite fantasy show of all time. It might not be grand or unique but its subtle and most importantly realistic worldbuilding puts it on a completely different level.
Regina must be the most shameless girl of all time if she teases little kids about such things. Nobody ever thinks of lewd things until they become teenagers. Anyone younger than 13 that gets such thoughts obviously hasn't been set any good examples.
