Dot from Derbyshire What an interesting video. Pity it was spoilt by the crap depressing music, so I switched the sound off, such a shame as I would have liked to have heard what you were saying. If you are still doing this wonderful art, please make another video without the awful music. Love from Derbyshire, Dot.

I loved watching this, amazing technique and what gorgeous results with the marbelling. Where can I get one of your handmade books with the marbelling as in the video? Thank you so much for sharing this work

Decades ago, I learned book arts, fine arts press from retired professor Bonnie O'Connell. I still create one-of-a-kind books with hand-sewn bindings. There's nothing like the visceral sensations exploring a handcrafted object, especially an old book. ❤ 📚

Does anyone know the name of the piano piece playing in the background of this video? (This was absolutely fascinating! I watched it in my class about the history of the book. Absolutely delightful, thank you for sharing!)

Thank-you soooo very much for sharing, and especially on your thoughts about book preservation.. I’m 70 years old and I feel exactly the same way.. I used to work in a library during my school days, and my favourite part was watching the bookbinders repair old books from the “stacks”, books that were kept in the back, not on display.. people had to make a special request to see them.. I heard of a library in England, that allows you to spend a night or weekend there, like a B&B.. that would be a holiday in deed, to enjoy a little historical journey, perusing through some of the ancients… bless you.. 💕🙏

Such terrible, annoying and aren’t-I-clever camerawork spoils what should be a delightful film watching a true master at work. This whole series suffers from this student-like approach - such a shame.

The subject matter is totally fascinating and entertaining... but the camera work is SO annoying!!! We would like 1 scene that doesn't tilt or pan or shake or roam or zoom or float... We would REALLY like to see the marbling please. Would love to give this a thumbs up, but it never concentrated on the subject at hand... just wandered all over without concentrating on the subject of the video!

...totally *love* all these videos from TGGoC! Very calming and informative. They show nice people being nice and doing nice things - now this might seem a trivial observation - a facetious remark even - that isn't in any way helpful. However, I mean it. The world is chock-a-block full of not very nice people, all in a hurry, trying their best to make a quick buck and push&pull anyone who'll listen into their way of thinking. These pleasant and unhurried craftspeople are quite the reverse. Thank Goodness! Happy Days, everybody :-)

Thanks so much for this vid. Really interesting. Maybe it wasn't such a smart move of me to go from a house / garden to a modern apartment - no scope for a fabulous shed, like Chris's !! Not being funny - or anything - but... I expect that book will be lying around, dusty & alone, long after we've all gone :-( I reminded of the film called Book of Ely. ps my friends' kiddies go to Painswick primary school - well, the eldest's just gone up to Big School this Sept. just gone. They're The Future!

nice - what fun to see the marks revealed (at say 5:10) ! As an aside, why is that a proportion of commentators cannot stop themslves from making remarks on the subject of the artist's personal appearance? What on earth do such comments have to do with the presenter's skills and knowledge? What do such comments bring to the topic of the video?
