@@DJYoungpb without getting too mushy you both touched my heart talking about the mental struggle of dealing with medical issues. Around 20 years ago I took a bad spill resulting in cervical surgery and several years of chronic pain as I healed. When you’ve been very active and driven and overnight you question if life will ever be normal it does a number on you. People who haven’t been through that just can’t relate. Kudos to you and Rob for speaking to that side of being an athlete who must balance medical concerns with sports career. Love the insight yours and various podcasts add to getting to know the pros and understanding the game as the sport continues to evolve and grow. 🥰

I had the pleasure of playing doubles against Ryan in Mesa a few weeks back. The dude is not only very master at what he does, but extremely humble and approachable. DJ is the exact same way. I saw him hitting against Spartak Rahachou in Vegas the other day before their first rounds and I’m always impressed. Great work on this pod DJ and look forward to seeing you again Ryan. 👊🏽

I agree with the issue of AL’s paddle. From the baseline all she has to do is direct the ball with no real effort and the ball will deflect with high speed over into the kitchen. When she had a few losses, her mom expressed her concern that other players had faster paddles so they were winning. Next thing you know you see her with her new hot paddle with weighted lead inserts. Now it plays a super fast game. It’s painful to watch her opponents struggle out there.

Dekel Bar's serve is definitely illegal. He always hit the ball above (or well above) his waist. It has been so unfair to his opponents. Shame on the referees that they've never double checked on that and stopped it.
@alanpranke3299Ай бұрын
Have been watching Dekel play for years. Congrats on latest improvements and results. The serve does look illegal at first but as you look closer, it does appear to be legal. On the other hand, it SHORE PO'ed that young lady and her mom. Had to mute the volume after that one.

Great to get to know what makes Connor tick. I enjoy watching him anytime he's on the court, even with the serve yips😊 There's actually a brain to swing optical dis-connect that happens. Guy I play with had it diagnosed by an Ophthalmologist. He switched to a Scott Moore style serve, and now NEVER misses a serve. Granted it's only rec, but it worked for him. Kinda weird.
