Living in the northeast, this is my go-to 3-season quilt. Love the versatility of using both as an underquilt and top quilt; it allows me to tent camp with the family without needing more gear. Recently, my son and I both used this as a top quilt in upper-30s temps and we were super warm.

Love the Aspen visits! I really appreciate the thinking that went into the design so that you can use it as a top quilt AND underquilt. Now I just need to upgrade to a 1000 fp down JRB quilt :)

Thanks Don for pointing me to this video on using the JRB suspension system. Very informative and easy to replicate. I love my Jacks R Better top quilt so much I needed to compliment it with a UQ. Attaching makes sense now.

why not just sew on a cord lock ?

In 2018 we ran the suspension cord through the same cord lock as the end cords and attached the cord lock to the quilt via a length of ribbon.

2nd video I have watched on this hammock. All I want to see is how much bend it has in it when someone is lying down in it. So far everbody sits on it but is afraid to video it doing its intended job. 2 thumbs down on this video.

Only zip the bag up partially to form a footbox and let the rest of the quilt draped over you.

how are the tensioners attached to the line?
@jacks_r_better
@jacks_r_better 7 жыл бұрын
The line actually passes through the Theraband tubing. Ther is an extra 5 inches of line inside the tubing that provided the short 5 inches of stretch per line when used. The lines attach to the tarp at the preformed loop on the end of the STL by whatever manner the user chooses.

I wish these were longer. I was going to buy one, but I would want it 78"-80" long. I guess I will continue to use the cheap fleece sleeping bag with the annoying zipper.

The Pinnacle Mercantile Authentic Military Woobie (poncho liner) isn't cheap at $100 but is 91 x 65 inches and has draw strings. It may be bulkier than the JacksRBetter fleece yet has the same 1.5 pounds weight which is one-third the price.

Hi Jack, I'm new to hammocks got a good deal on ebay for a new hennessy side zip backpacker model, There is so much to learn as i've always been a backpacker and tent camper. But age is catching up with me and waking up stiff and sore in the morning was getting harder each day on my 2015 AT thru hike just to get in and out of the tent. I only made it 560 miles and got blood clots going to finish it this spring health permitting. I need your advice on the puchase of very lite weight tarp similar to the one used in your video. Would this one be too heavy or too large to use on a thru hike and what would you recommend? Thank you for the informative videos they are much appreciated. Capt. America
