Thank you for a very helpful tutorial. I'm confused by the enthalpy chart used. The one I use and others I compare to, I get much higher Enthalpy values at these conditions. H1 = 250kJ/kg, H2 = 400kJ/kg and H3 = 430kJ/kg
@RPaulSingh3 ай бұрын
Thank you for your observation! Please note that enthalpy charts (and tables) available from different organizations may have used different reference datum. The charts, I have used, are based on 100 kJ/kg at 0 C for saturated liquid as a datum. You may find other charts available with a datum reference as 200 kJ/kg at 0 C. You can check these numbers by reading the enthalpy value at 0 C for the saturated liquid state. The different datum values do not influence our calculations because we are always determining the difference between two enthalpy values; and the chosen datum does not impact the difference (only the absolute enthalpy value at that temperature may be different depending upon the chart one uses).

Hi. In line 6) two elbows of 90 degrees are 2*0.75 instead of 2*1.5. The result in line 6) should be 3.5. So, in line 8) your total friction loss is 213.9 J/kg. Am I correct?
@RPaulSingh8 ай бұрын
The friction loss for a regular 90 degrees threaded elbow is 1.5, therefore, for two elbows it is 2*1.5. The calculation shown in the video is correct!
