Came across this by accident. WOW!!!! You know that feeling you get when you are reading a book and you get so engrossed/captivated by the story that you can't wait to turn the page to find out what happens next? Well, I got that same feeling listening to this. VERY WELL WRITTEN. Definitely worth an automatic "Like" and Subscribe. edit: It's 2 AM but come daytime I'll start binge watching your playlist!

can we make the universe small again? There is no GALACTIC anything. For f*** sakes, read some old fashioned scifi from the 1950's.
@SciFiLegends123 ай бұрын
You're longing for a return to classic 1950s sci-fi, where the universe felt smaller and more intimate. Back then, stories focused on human-scale adventures, space stations, and nearby planets-before the genre expanded into sprawling galactic empires and multiverses. It was about relatable exploration and conflict, not overwhelming cosmic complexity. You're asking to "make the universe small again," focusing on human stories and simpler frontiers.

@@SciFiLegends12 yes. every story seems to be trying to be an ever expanding adventure into 'the endless expanse of space'. We know space is huge [insert Douglas Adams quote here]. There is NO REASON to repeat this truth. It just becomes garbage and like I was when I was 12 and writing essays to figure out how to get two more words into the essay to meet the minimum word limit. My main criticism isn't the stories. It's that they always TELL us rather than SHOW us. Maybe there will be a future where we can travel to Proxima in an hour. I do not know. But losing the space-magic feel about how incredible that is...something is lost. if everything is pan-galactic where is the scifi? Just wave a stick and then everything becomes instantly possible with no struggle. I appreciate your thoughtful response and I hope you receive my own with grace and consideration. I have suffered many scathing critiques from editors. lol. sometimes they are brutal. there are hundreds of pages of writing i have thrown out, not because the idea was bad but because my execution of those ideas was bad. /cheers and with respect.

@@SciFiLegends12 Not necessarily. There are a million stories, many of which I have read, where humans span even multiple galaxies. The difference is they don't forget to write real characters into those stories. The stories are large, but the human element keeps them grounded.

Before I make some story suggestions, I neeeeed to say that the computer/AI reading of text is still, a tad linguisticly goofy. Then, in the image linked to this post, it looks a lot like there were TWELVE GRAVE WALKERS dropping from modified C-130s and they were fart assisted rocketing their way to the ground. Instead of a big plasma canon how about a hypersonic RPG or BARRETT M-50 that shot rocket-assisted armor piercing and high energy rounds. How 'bout the Sniper picking off enemy soldiers with an M-24 chambered in .338 LAPUA with the others deftly wielding ANCIENT REMINGTON 1917 EDDYSTONES rechambered for .308 hypervelocity armor piercing, incendiary, and high energy munitions. Being steeped in combat traditions, Wolf's unit might carry other ancient weapons that gave no detectable energy signature. Keeping with Human fighting tradition that stretched back well over 300 years the GREY WALKERS all had their most fave signature silent weapons; KA-BARS, CASE V-42 FSSF SYKES-FAIRBAIRNS, and Royal Army Issue KUKRIS. These absolutely ancient War tools were their signature covert weapons. In the annals of Galactic warfare, rumors had it that if GREY WALKERS had entered the fray, and signs indicated they were using their terrible slivers of steel, enemy units would often surrender immediately and their leaders would sue for peace on the spot.
