It was great hearing modern music being performed in the episode. With everything TV related that's been going on this season, I wouldn't be surprised if the musical choices were influenced. Probably by Bridgerton, but still lol.
@Whatwethinkofit4 күн бұрын
Yeah I reckon Bridgerton influenced that definitely

It was a pretty alright episode with really a powerful ending and showcased a lot for the character. 7/10 because honestly it’s not a fun rewatch cuz she’s so blatantly racist and just annoying.

I think the reason why the producers of Dr. Who Series 14 went through the time, money, and trouble to shoot this episode was because it gives the fans something different relative to the average: Dr. meets mean alien, Dr. discovers alien is about to destroy the race/planet/galaxy/universe, and Dr. has to stop it from happening. 73 Yards, in my opinion is one of the best episodes of the entire franchise. Some might have trouble understanding the episode because they aren't seeing "Mad Jack" as the non-physical entity that it is but rather as an alien up to no good. This later viewpoint does lead to a lot of unanswered questions.... The way I understood it, "Mad Jack" was a supernatural, super-powerful, mysterious entity that truly_does_not_like_it when anyone breaks its fairy circle. It's power, though, is only surpassed by its mystery. This underlying idea really explains everything that happened in the episode. I LOVED IT! ❤❤❤️
@Whatwethinkofit19 күн бұрын
Good theory, I didn’t realise they had trouble shooting the episode, was that in the unleashed? And yeah some think it’s just because of the supernatural and fantasy coming true more now because of that salt cast etc, but others think it’s because of Ruby just having powers by being whoever and whatever she is so each holds up, having rewatched it now i appreciate it a lot more then I did when this was recorded, (which was on the night) I’m hoping things revisited later in the series yes because I’d like for it to have some relevance but I’m glad you enjoyed it and thank you for commenting on the video :)

very average, no original ideas and a horrible love solves everything ending. A very poor Moffat script.

Yes, if you ignore the previous two for the previous two reviews, this is now the intro that will be used for the entire podcast. Originally, we were doing different themed ones, but have decided to stick to one from now on :) Fyi The music might still change occasionally

Solid 8/10 it was great and you could tell it was Moffat back writing it and that’s good. Perfect episode for a rewatch as well as it’s pretty much unconnected to the arc of the series (apart from the snow bit) Murray Gold was pretty good as well and yeah definitely better then the previous 2

Here is my theory: David Tennant will come back for only 1-2 minutes. Point 1) 14th is still the main Doctor. He maintains the original Tardis also. Ncuti was created by 14th. Am I saying Ncuti is not The Doctor? No. Point 2) Once 14th has recovered from his trauma, AND once he's ready to regenerate again, be it from old age or whatever, something happens that triggers 14th's regeneration energy to go to the events of The Giggle. This is why 15th is mentally stable now and is "fine, because [14] fixes himself". 14th's path dies because he can no longer complete a full regeneration. He simply transfers the regeneration to the events of The Giggle.
@Whatwethinkofit28 күн бұрын
Very good theory! Well keep that in mind and I guess see what happens :)

@RichardTLDRАй бұрын
I don’t think it is possible that the Doctor wouldn’t return. He is as much the Doctor as 15 and still has his regenerations as a result. The new series has been so poor I regard 14 and his future incarnations as still being potentially the real Doctor. I don’t think this new series is working out and cancellation or retcon is deeply possible.

David Tennant is literally like the face of Doctor who like it or not, even in America as much as Disney want Ncuti to be recognised as that he’s not. It’s David, so bringing him back especially considering the plot Russel wrote with him makes the most sense. If they don’t then yeah that’s stupid asf
@Daleksec10Ай бұрын
If he doesn’t come back it’s gonna come across as really lazy writing and out of character for the doctor to just not get involved as it were. Hoping he does come back

This is Woke gone mad, Davros is a fictional character from Genesis of the Daleks written by Terry Nation for Tom Baker’s Doctor Who in 1975. Davros and the Daleks are a parody of Adolf Hitler and fascism. The lower half of Davros body was mutilated beyond recognition during the war with the Thals, hence the mobile life-support on which the mutated Kaleds i.e. Daleks were modeled. Russell T Davies thinks it’s OK to undo 48 years of Dr Who canon; sorry this isn’t how you address issues of disability and prejudice. Wokeness is about opposing social injustice, sex discrimination, racism, inequality and poverty, what Russell T Davies is doing is a travesty. Dr Who at its best is entertainment, sort of educational with historical story lines and obviously about science fiction, but as with Daleks, Cybermen and stories from the classic era like An Unearthly Child 100,000 BC and The Savages there are moral issues that can be picked out. This is why I love Classic Who and why I’ve watched it ever since that first story in 1963, New Who has moved further and further from the premise Sydney Newman had back in the beginning, it’s been dumbed down with the quality of acting and stories falling in quality. In my opinion, Sylvester McCoy’s Doctor was the last worthy of the legacy of Hartnell, Troughton and the likes of Tom Baker. If RTD wants to be Woke, address social issues like the growing divide between rich and poor in Britain and between the developed and developing world, the ecological crises and climate change. Changing Davros from a cyborg to a totally hominid organisms is just playing at it and a distraction away from the big issues facing humanity. It might make RTD feel good and important, but all it really achieves is to trash Who canon and offend many of those of us who have been fans for decades.
@debonaire_nerd6 ай бұрын
I am definitely in the minority here: Murray Gold's score. Cannot stand it. Hear me out. RTD has publically stated that none of this short episode was intended to be played for laughs. Ok, Russ - then why are there sitcom horns and strings in the background?

I sadly agree. What was with that 😭 honestly looking back think he just said it to get people watching

HATED it. If there's one enemy the Doctor completely loses his cool over, it's the Daleks. He does not make "helpful" comments about using a sink plunger instead of a multi-claw, he would be tearing the whole lab apart with his bare hands. Julian Bleach was good as Davros, though.
@Whatwethinkofit6 ай бұрын
Yeahh to be fair on reflection this was our live reaction and I think the doctors not as shocked to see them and it had less of an impact/effect because this takes place seconds after the Liberation of the daleks comic, but I admit the whole claw replacement plunger scene acting as the comic relief really didn’t sit well with me. Have to agree as said in the video we also did like seeing him back, just a strange way to usual
