More waffling and inaction by government. This does however present succintly the effects of the ban on us veterans. It is little wonder that veterans who were dismissed by the UK Armed Forces, are now taking their own legal action. We don't want a special ribbon, we want the administrative medals that we were denied earning, like long service and good conduct. Even more insulting is the issue of a new medal for general service, which could have easily also been issued to us. It is legal action only that has achieved the ban being overturned and medals restored, it will be legal action again that gets us results. The already delayed report was an insult, the lack of invitation to Parliament, by a government that had our contact details from our testimonies, is an insult. The fact veterans who elected to have berets back at ceremonies, only to receive them in the post, is an insult. This was a very good debate but a total inaction by a government that continues to waffle and tell us they're working at pace.
