I respect Anindo ji a lot. But this is gross simplification of gharanas. This video is not to be taken as a source of understanding the differences and composition techniques of gharanas, especially Benares Gharana

@@Birdbussa I am not aware of other gharanas, but the composition techniques of benaras gharana are very distinct to the rest for sure. You should try listen to Pt Sanju Sahai and Pt. Sharda Sahai the 5th n 6th generation of Pt. Ram sahai.

Did he say that 90% of Zakir's tricks are from Thirakwa? or did I misunderstand him?
@indiabharat50145 жыл бұрын
He meant that though his Guru, i.e., his father was from Punjab gharaana his style is influenced a lot by Farukhabad Gharaana

Zakir ji takes great influence from Thirakwa Khan Sahab since Khan Sahab would often visit Abbaji in Mumbai and would often drop some tips for Zakir Ji. Punjab Gharana in modern day takes great influence from Farukkhabad, which is how it evolved into a tabla gharana from a pakhawaji gharana.

He mean to say that 90% of Zakir ji's Tabla are comprise of Thirakwa kha Sahab, Nizamuddin Khan ,Wajid Hussain,Afaq Hussain playing.

It is not a pakhawaj. It is a larger head tabla used for playing in lower octave and often used in vocal accompaniment. Known as kharaj tabla or dhala tabla or by other names too. It is definitely not a pakhawaj, pakhawaj is much bigger than this.
