Great analysis and explanation. My neighbors feed birds of all types and squirrels (of which I do not approve). A small hawk flew into their house hot on the tail of a mourning dove (which she did not know at first) and neighbor was working from home. My neighbor who was afraid of the hawk called me since I volunteer at WildCare in San Rafael (birdroom) to come and catch the hawk. I raced over and guided it (juvenile) to fly out the way it came in - open back door. In the meantime, wife had found the dove which at first she had had no idea there even was a reason the hawk ended up in the living room. Dove was in the sink so easy to catch. I went home and brought over a carrier and some seed - they wanted to let the dove rest until releasing her/him. They tried several times to release her but she kept coming back. I volunteered to take her to the rescue - sadly after examined, it turned out she had a fractured skull, was therefore not releasable, and she was humanely euthanized. Since then, this family has donated to WildCare!

I'm pretty sure that bird is a magpie (in the same corvid family) and not a raven. It doesn't change how amazing it is that it speaks, but ravens with white feathers are incredibly rare. It's not impossible, just inprobable.
