Solid. I’ve managed to catch them on 6765 kHz USB (their transmitter seems to be slightly off-frequency, 6765.1 kHz USB seems to work better) as well.

Nice catch. I know he’s got a 22m beacon (license free beacon on the 13.553 MHz - 13.567 MHz band, Part 15 of the FCC rules allow up to 4.6mW output on that band) and he did have a Part 15 beacon on 11m as well, I believe it was on 27.125 MHz [CB Channel 14] for the Part 15 band for 27MHz is 26.96 MHz - 27.28 MHz…field strength limited to 10,000 microvolts/meter at 3 meters. Same field strength limit for 49.82 MHz - 49.9 MHz. The Part 15 allocation on 27 MHz is shared with the Part 95D allocation (CB radio radio service - CBRS) and Part 95C allocation (RCRS 4w power on - 26.995 MHz - 27.045 MHz - 27.095 MHz - 27.145 MHz - 27.195 MHz and 25w power on 27.255 MHz [27.255 is shared with CB Channel 23] and the Part 18 ISM allocation centered at 27.12 MHz +/- 163 kHz so 26.957 MHz - 27.283 MHz Part 95D - CB Radio Service: 26.96-27.41 MHz 40 channels, 10 kHz steps, with 5 skipped channels 26.965 MHz = first channel). Part 95 C - RCRS First channel 35 kHz from the 26.96 MHz band edge 50 kHz spacing between channels So 26.995 27.045 27.095 27.145 27.195 plus one high power 25w channel (60 kHz spacing) 27.255 kHz shared with CBRS 26.99-27.26 MHz 6 specific channels, the 5 skipped channels within the CB service + 27.255 MHz. *Many cheap RC toys use one of the RCRS channels but operate under Part 15, not Part 95.* Part 15 - 10,000 microvolts/meter at 3m field strength limit 26.96 - 27.28 MHz overlaps CB Channel 1 to CB Channel 28 [27.285 MHz] - also overlaps the spectrum used by RCRS Part 18 ISM band 26.957 MHz - 27.283 MHz Overlaps the same spectrum, center frequency 27.120 MHz, halfway between 27.115 MHz [CB CH13] and 27.125 MHz [CB CH14]

Could be a baby monitor or similar open mic type system. I know that they operate in the 40.66 MHz - 40.70 MHz range (5 kHz steps, roughly) in many countries….kind of like what the 49MHz band (the 49.82 MHz - 49.90 MHz band) is used in the U.S.. Most monitors have moved up to 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz or use the 1.7 GHz / 1.8 GHz DECT system, but some of them are still on 49 MHz and the band is still open and available for that use. There were 40/49 MHz intercoms made, but, at least here in the U.S., they’re now on the license free FRS channels, the 900 MHz band…or 2.4 GHz. 2.4 is just basically unusable in urban areas though. know the Italians use the 40.66 MHz - 40.70 MHz band for “Church Radio” broadcasting, much like the CADS / WPAS system in the UK and Ireland.

I agree 💯. Maybe that's the reason why this so called Russian OTH radar or whatever it is has been causing wide band QRM on 10 meters. It wouldn't surprise me if this is a method of trying to usurp the allocation for other uses. This is what can happen when Amateur radio is no longer a protected service.

Well done re the new TEF6686. In my radio shack, I only use a TEF6686 'desktop' tuner version for 65-108 MHz DX. I also use an Icom R8600 for shortwave and low VHF DX. Both use up little physical space on my monitoring table. The TEF6686 sounds better connected to a pair of Edifier R1280DB bookshelf type stereo speakers.
