Lily Bloom's character in the book was deeper than the clothes she wore. Lily was battling within, the trauma of witnessing her father's abuse against her mother and the unexpressed anger, resentment against her mother for staying and navigating her life away from this and yet ending up close and personal with an abusive husband. Blake was so out of touch with the depth and sensitivities of domestic abuse before, during, and after the movie. Reason: She did not read the book!

does this woman even know what the story line was about? she knows she was playing a woman experiencing DV in real time, right? the book is so nuanced and she is a one trick pony. this movie could have been GREAT. Justin was so charming and had shadow's. as a victims advocate his character was so complicated - you wanted him to overcome his demons. Her character at times wasn't even attractive, there was very little softness to lilly except when she was younger. it could have been a great part for the right actress.

Pablo is not a handsome guy - Angelina is attractive, but not a good actress _ i never seen good acting from her in any movie! Just reaping the benefits from her father's illustrious career - because he really is a good actor - could have taught her some - but I don't think she would have listened to anybody but her stubborn self - too bad - I don't think this movie will win any awards. The critics will be fair and the public is raising their standards - she was SNUBBED from the Oscars
