If this is bad will it affect fuel going to the injectors?
@Brandon-mx9nv
@Brandon-mx9nv 3 жыл бұрын
If you got dirty or bad gas it will definitely affect your injectors if anything gets past the filters. Since the fuel will make its way to the injectors. I just dropped and cleaned my tank because I’m having my injectors rebuilt and don’t want anything to contaminate the expensive investment.

Thank you for showing the self centered idiot drivers in Santa Monica. It only demonstrates the lack of driving attention and drivers thinking only of themselves. Last I was aware pedestrians in the crosswalk have the right of way. Kudo's to SMPD for doing their job and re-educating these drivers on California traffic laws.

CAUTION: I broke my sending unit pick-up screen (shower head looking thing) because while I was still using a 4 ft 2x8, it provided enough force in the middle to snap the pick-up screen. When you support the tank with the jack, be sure to support it with a sturdy board and attach 2x4's spaced at the points where the straps are located. This will support the tank at its natural points and spare you the $60 for the new pick-up screen.

I have a 2005 6.0 f250 as well, have had fuel issues loosing power on acceleration, thinking I gotta drop the tank, the two small screens inside the sending unit probably need to be clean and after seeing the water in yours I'm sure after my round trip back home to Texas and back there's gotta be some water in the tank from somewhere.

This truck is really heavy. I wanted to reduce the weight, and everything helps... Actually this is done so you can use the full capacity of the tank, and full tank fill without having the pump constantly clicking off. this is on a diesel truck, not to be done on a gasoline tank. There are only a few weak spots on the Ridgeline, The articulation is very limited, but very few of us Truck owners are going to be crawling over boulders anytime soon. Traction tire/Wheels needs to be chosen carefully for fit, Approach & Departure angles needs to be addressed...A two inch lift is available from three manufacture, helps a lot. All can be improved except the suspension travel. Outright power is not an issue because we never use 100% power anyway!

Your going to make me get technical to prove you wrong here lol. Anyways all cars presented here are from 2012 and have 4wd. A ridgeline has 250hp and 247 torque and weighs 4513lbs which equals a ratio of 0.055. A Ram 1500 has 390hp and 407 torque. It weighs 5431lbs which equals a power to weight ratio of 0.071. Ford and GM are all similar when it comes to weight and power. This was just to prove that the ridgeline is actually much slower then American trucks.

japan is known for making smaller engines cause they make vehicals consiterably lighter then american cars. I gaurentee this stock ridgeline if it has a VTEC engine could smoke most stock american trucks with maybe the exception of the Dodge Ram SRT10. if you look at tourqe and HP of the ridgeline vs an american truck the american truck will have more HP and Tourqe but with the extra weight of the american vehical the ridgeline is still faster off the start and has better top end speed.

It's perfect for people who want 20mpg consitantly as long as you can hold back your ego. And for being what most big trucks get used for, trips to the grocery store. I live in TX and I see plenty of huge trucks that never see dirt. My Honda practically lives on dirt and stock for stock the suspension will outruns most partial American trucks, like all the Isuzu Duramax Chevy's with Rolls Royce transmissions. LOL

I say the Ridgeline does pretty good for a beefed up minivan. I own one and the 3.5 doesn't feel much slower, and the j35 in it makes about 250ft lbs. Let me inform you guys that HP is a mathematical equation and theoretically is not real. TQ is what is the basis of power, torque is what hauls not HP. The ridgeline is about 500lbs lighter then most 1500 trucks running c-channel frames. Those trucks on average producing say 270ft lbs so the weight difference makes up for it's lack of engine.

all this has is an intake and no cats, that's it? i figured they'd take it apart and do so head/intake manifold work, add headers and tune it, because the stock tune is more economy oriented than performance, i'm sure with a bit of engine work and a good tune could put it at 400 reliable hp

If only they get the electronics working correctly. American cars and trucks are notorious for electrical issues. Interesting enough I drove my first Ridgeline today. It was better then I expected and didn't seem to float as much at American trucks. My only complaints were the mandatory AWD and the weak engine. Just looking under the hood of these things shows that it needs a bigger engine. If your looking for minor truck capability that drives like a car this would be OK but not my choice.

I know for a fact that Chevy and GMC trucks have no more then a 1/4 of an inch of flex between the box and cab of the truck. I know because i have experienced this first hand. Also if you look on youtube there are plenty of videos supporting this fact. I cannot say the same for Ram and Ford because I have not seen it. I have a 2004 jeep Grand Cherokee which is a uni-body vehicle and as you said the frame simply will not flex, however neither will my friends 2010 GMC 1500.
@tts60r
@tts60r 12 жыл бұрын
When did I ever say it had a frame? My point is that you claim that the uni-body in the Ridgeline is so much stronger then a conventional 1500 truck. So why is the towing capacity half of the others? If the frame is stronger then why cant it pull more then a normal 1500? Shouldn't it be able to pull at least the same? Also HP is a deciding factor in buying a truck. If you are hauling you need something that can accelerate some what quickly just to drive safely in many cases.
@tts60r
@tts60r 12 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure where you live but by me I see 2500 and 1500 trucks hauling 9000+lb trailers all over the place. Everything from Motor Homes to Construction equipment. In comparison I'm sure the Ridgeline's frame would bend in half if it was trying to pull anywhere near that weight. That's why the the towing capacity is only about 5000lbs compared to 10000+ in other 1500 trucks. And Ford's 6.2 makes 410 HP I believe plus the only trucks that have less then 350 hp are junk work trucks.

Not so much. They get terrible gas Mileage because they weigh so much that the little 3.5 v6 is not adequate anymore. It only makes 250 horsepower which is terrible in the truck world. Everything from 2010 up has at least 390 horsepower in comparison. 2 it is a weak unibody frame which destroys the towing and cargo capacity. And to top it all off the clearance is terrible so its not even good off road.
