I used to ride 25 yrs ago. My last dirt bike was a CR250. I live in the DFW area and I’d like to get my adopted boys riding. They are 13 and 15 and have NEVER ridden. What are the youth out there riding? I realize the easy answer is EVERYTHING but I’m trying to determine if I start them out on maybe a CRF125F? I’m not sure a 2 stroke would be good to start in although that what I love and learn on when I was a kid. Thoughts? Where else do you ride in DFW? Is there a cost?

Red River Motor Cycle trails. It's on the border of texas and oklahoma. They say they're in Muenster, TX, but they're probably ~15 min outside.

About the dr200 stopping after going in water. It is most likely the water making an interferance with mechanism that stops the bike when the stand goes down. Disable it.

Love bills woods out there amazing track and ofc coming out of the gate for the last time b4 I left my hand guard caught the right pole because I wasn't correctly lined up and so it yanked my bike away from me and it was upside down😢

On weekends, it can get decently busy, but on the weekdays, there’s not much people

The DR200 is one of the worst bikes ever, that's still legendary. There's an old tale of a crazy bastard ironmaning one at Glenn Helen raceway, and getting second place. Terrible bike, but its still awesome!

We run Cardo Pack Talks. They work well enough to let us talk to each other while riding.

Cool video. Its quite capabel on singletrack. Few tips to make the dr way better. The dr200 was actually realesed with a performance exhaust and a Mikuni TM28 pumper carb in 86 when it came out. It was a powerful bike for its displacement back then and still is. However over the years the have leaned the bike out completely with a oversized vaccum carburetor and some restrictions in the exhaust. Just changing that god awful BST31 carb a PWK carb or any non vaccum carb for that matter will transform it completely. You can also get an Aftermarket slip on exhaust and remove the airbox lid for a little extra too.

What are the fees $$ to ride there?

So if you're not a resident of trophy club, if you pay at the gate the rates are $30/day Saturday & Sunday ($25 during the week). They sell a 10 pack card (what i do) where it's $175 up front for 10 entries. Bringing it down to $17.50/visit any day of the week. www.trophyclub.org/558/Fees FYI they technically require OHV passes but I'll be honest I've never seen it enforced ever.

@@abnerzayas3352 i sure do miss texplex... Texplex had a way better MX setup. Single track was not too different but texplex was better for most everything else. Shame. I've still got footage from texplex earlier this year to edit (friend broke his shoulder there)

Nice, Can you make an info video on like a beginner orientation video on how to ride at Trophy? Like from the gate, pulling into at the parking and the MX tracks and trails. Yet to see one like that. Maybe the club even use that video.

yeah, I don't have footage of it currently, but can definitely do that. Not sure next time i'll get out there, probably will be several weeks, since i'm booked up for a bit. It has changed a good amount since this video, though. They redid sections of it.

Yeah we looped around twice before this started trying to find the actual start. I think it's been modified or a tree went down over it. We tried twice and never found where it started so we gave up and started it where it did in this video. You'll notice from our training we were talking about trying to find what we missed.

Hey man, I really dig your videos. Do you ride Lake Murray, Brushy Creek, or Bridgeport? I’m a local (to you) rider and it’d be cool to see you riding where we ride or would like to ride. Keep it up!
