My humble opinion from real life experience with both these slings and more: 6L as well as 8L are very controversial volumes, cause when I have my very minimalistic EDC consisted from keys, small wallet / cardholder with minimum spare cash, smartphone, pair of small in-ear bluetooth headphones, medium-sized powerbank (up to 12000 mAh) with cable, maybe some small pocket knife as an extra and this is it: - I literally don't need 6L / 8L of volume at all, it's far too much just to empty my pockets! Thus, it's quite the opposite = much smaller fanny pack / waistbag / mini sling with up to 4L - 5L of volume max(!) will do the job perfectly fine, sometimes even smallest one like 1L Osprey Transporter Waistbag or 1.8L Deuter Belt Hipbag or 2.2L Osprey Daylite Waistbag are sufficiently enough just to empty my pockets and provide one convenient proven grab-n-go storage for every smaller necesseties from keys to cardholder not to forget something important in the pocket of other jacket when I go out and about! Besides, both of these given medium-sized "too much of spare volume" slings aka 6L Ospey as well as 8L Patagonia severely lack dedicated secure zippered / hidden pocket for valuables like wallet = it's a huge flaw for both of them, not to mention the lack of organizational pockets for smaller items, while modern +/- 2L waistbags like Osprey Transporter or Deuter Belt as well as minimalistic +/- 4L mini slings like Tomtoc EDC Compact Sling or Alpaka Bravo Sling Mini v2 are far better in these specific matters = keeping your valuables safe from thieves and your smaller items well organised! It's utterly important advantage for Tomtoc and disadvantage for Patagonia just to illustrate! At the second thought, when I do have to bring with me not minimalistic but rather modesltly expanded EDC, which includes not only some small tablet or kindle in addition to smartphone and some small yet powerful GaN charger in addition to powerbank, plus maybe big over-the-ear bluetooth headphones and/or bigger wallet with my passport and multi-currency cash as well as must have thermo bottle / flask with hot tea or coffee and some extra layer of cloth like rain jacket (or umbrella at least) or vice versa sunglasses in volume eating protective hard case (depending on weather forecast) as a must: - well, 6L as well as 8L in this case scenario are just not enough at all!!! Cause I definetely don't want to put even the most reliable and leakproof flask inside the sling next to my iPad mini indeed, not to mention umbrella does not fit in these small or medium slings anyway, while rain jacket would strictly compete for a place with big headphones (so I need to choose between headphones and extra layer of cloth which is irritating!) and maybe rain jacket could be an option only with Patagonia thanks to its compression straps and still - not an ideal solution at all! In other words, for expanded EDC I'd rather prefer something like small EDC backpack already with higher volume = 12L Alpaka Metro backpack or 14L Deuter Bike 1 backpack will do the job much better than these mediun 6L / 8L slings, cause backpacks capacity will easily handle umbrella plus thermo bottle, where even 8L Patagonia Atom Sling would have a lot of issues and unwanted compromises actually! To tell the truth, for expanded EDC my ideal sling was already discountinued Thule Crossover 17L sling and it had it all = external water bottle holder not to worry if leaked liquid will kill my gadgets, hidden zippered pockets to keep valuables safe, enough capacity to put umbrella as well as big headphones and extra layer of cloth in addition, plus a bunch of small organizational pockets for smaller items to be organised well without clutter and mess! At the end of the day, at summer with minimalistic EDC - I love to use 4L Tomtoc Compact EDC sling and dream to upgrade it towards even more advanced 5L Alpaka Bravo Sling Mini v2, while in midseason and winter I actually found my way with 8L Patagonia Atom Sling, BUT! But I had to buy Thule Subterra Power Shuttle Mini Organiser in addition for powerbank, cables and small bluetooth headphones not to create the real mess and clutter inside two big compartmens of 8L Patagonia Atom Sling, I had to agree I would not bring big headphones with me anyway and I won't try to put wallet inside the Patagonia Atom Sling cause it's simply an invitation to thieves so I risk to forget my wallet in the pocket of my jacket when I switch to another jacket instead of risk of stolen wallet... Besides, I still hate the lack of external water bottle stretch pocket for my flask or at least some molle attachment points for carabiners to fix the thermo bottle externally and not to risk my gadgets inside!!! To conclude with - I pretty much like my 8L Patagonia Atom Sling at colder seasons fo it's versatility and sturdiness, but it's far from being ideal EDC indeed, which push me to reach a lot of unwanted compromises alas! And as soon as I need some bigger office gadgets like 13" Ultrabook or 12" iPad Pro - I imediatelly drop this controversial 8L Atom Sling to the favor of small backpack like above mentioned Alpaka Metro 12L and it's a true bargain!

Unfortunately haven't had the chance to try the new patagonia, my wife has the daylite and I kind of liked the old version a bit better, the full clam shell zipper works against you when opening it while wearing it and I miss the stretchy pocket at the front
@Kizarat
@Kizarat Жыл бұрын
@@orlandomireles6374 I think the full clam shell zipper of the updated Osprey Daylite is there because you can wear the bag on either left or right shoulder by changing the alignment of the sling strap with one of the two hook rings at the bottom of the bag, making the compartments accessible on either side.

There shouldn't be a a problem, in fact what I did was I installed the M.2, cloned the windows from my 2.5" ssd to the M.2, changed the BIOS so the laptop would boot up from the M.2 and after making sure everything was working fine I formatted the 2.5 ssd and now use it as mass storage with the M.2 being the main disk

So here's the deal, SATA M.2s have two notches while NVME M.2s have only one notch...I also found conflicting information regarding if the M.2 was NVME or M.2 but when I opened my laptop I saw that there was only one notch so, problem solved, it had to be an NVME. I recommend you to open your computer and check the slot to see if it has 1 or 2 plastic dividers.

Yeah I would dare to say that the new model is about the same in terms of size but there are several differences: the strap is beefier and more comfortable, you don't have the outer stretchy pocket anymore just a regular fairly deep pocket, the main pocket has now a all around zipper, and internally you now just have one mesh pocket with key keeper and a sleeve that may fit mini tablets like an ipad mini or a kindle. Hope this helps.

Do you need a heat sink for an ssd?
@orlandomireles6374
@orlandomireles6374 2 жыл бұрын
So technically speaking you don't, although I've seen the M.2 getting to about 60 C under heavy read and write speeds...you could try to squeeze a low profile heat sink in there but the problem is that there's almost no aire movement in that part of the laptop, another solution could be trying to figure out how big is the gap between the plastic cover and the M.2 and try to fit a thermal pad (if the space is small enough) so some of the heat can be dump directly to the plastic chasis of the laptop, neither are good solution but I haven't had any problems so far.
