Hello! The snow is always so pretty. We usual get our share of snow here in Canada and also very cold. This morning it was -17 F. It's suppose to warm up some for Christmas, so that will be good. Your cake looked delicious. Do your dogs like to play in the snow? Never had canned deer meat, let us know how it is. Happy holidays ❤🎄☃️🎀

Brrr... -17! Now that's cold. I hope that you do get that Christmas warm-up. Thank you, the coffee cake and deer meat were both very good. I made a gravy and cooked pasta to go along with it. Stay warm up there in Canada and Merry Christmas to you.

Why let the eggs go to room temperature before boiling?
@Onemorehobby-AND-homemakingАй бұрын
Hi. Letting eggs come to room temperature before boiling will help to keep them from cracking during the cooking process.

That looked like one of my attempts! Lol! Very frustrating because I have made bread for years. I have a great starter and do all kinds of baking with the discard but I just couldn’t get the bread to turn out. I finally ran across someone who was from Texas and explained the trouble with “summer” sourdough bread, temperature really affected my dough. I’ve taken a couple months off and am ready to try again. I had to make a few yeast breads so I didn’t feel like a total failure.😊

How much starter did u have before you fed it?
@Onemorehobby-AND-homemaking3 ай бұрын
At the time of this video, I was following a no discard recipe. This recipe does not say to weigh the starter before feeding it, and you simply add the same amount of flour and water each day. Feeding amounts remain the same each day and do not increase. On day one, 50 grams flour and 50 grams water. I hope this answers your question.

@@Onemorehobby-AND-homemaking New subscriber. I don't know why I can't comment so here I am 😂 where did you get your silicone-tip spoon? You're creating/building a starter. Mine is already an established starter. I basically use a similar method but use a clean jar adding equal parts starter 6 oz and 3 oz each flour and water discarding the remaining starter. I use ORGANIC rye flour (as there are considerably more natural yeasts in rye flour) and only feed it once every few weeks.
