I agree. Akhlys was also astonishing. I unfortunately didn't see DOdheimsgard. Bewitched was also excellent on the Octagon stage. The festival in general was anyway of a very high quality.

Emperor has all my credit. I wrote it in the description of another of their videos. It's the band through which I entered the realm of Black Metal almost 30 years ago. I drove 800 km mainly for 3 or 4 bands which were at the Brutal Assault, among them Emperor. I also really want to insist on the fact that I don't upload videos so that people listen to the band's music without buying their albums. I want those who attended the festival to get some good memories. I also want people to discover another face of some bands which they already know, because a Live performance is not the same a studio recording. Most importantly: I want people to discover new bands, which is especially important for bands which are not very famous (unlike Emperor). When I really like a band, I buy their stuff. Of course, I cannot buy albums of all the bands which attended the festival, but I always buy a couple of CDs or LPs.

I typically go to one or two festivals in the summer. The rest of the year, I go to regular concerts which are organized nearby. It must be an average of more or less one per month. I've been deep in the realm of Metal for 30 years now. I had a radio program, a fanzine and I played for several bands. I had the chance to meet many bands. I like the fact that there are many bands at festivals. You can really enjoy the music for much more than just one concert and discover many bands. However, I love the intimate atmosphere of small clubs. There aren't many people, but the ones who come are real fans and you can talk with the band members at the end of the gig, which is something you can forget about at a festival.

The front rows were full even 2 hours before the show. Many people actually went to the front row for Primordial to keep it for Emperor. Very often the people in the front rows are true fans. I was in the 3rd row while I came 2 hours before. However, this is a festival and not a regular concert. It can happen that people end up in rhe front row while they know nothing about the band. So try to forget about this issue and just remember the magic of the moment when you could headbang and sing with band

It's to enable people to remember all the good memories that I post the videos. Emperor was one of the three or four bands which convinced me to come to Brutal Assault. I haven't seen them for over 20 years while it's the band through which I started listening to black metal when they released 'Anthems to the welkin at dusk'. This band is just amazing. They managed to get 'towards the Pantheon' of black metal gods with just one album (in the nightime eclipse)
