There is another KZbinr on here his name is Cody he runs a channel called driftsnlifts that specializes in anything and everything Volvo related content from drifting, autocross, Street builds and everything else. He has a very good parts plug in Sweden and knows a bunch of people for doing very good one-off custom work. Only downside is he is located in Canada right above Washington State

Ultra stiff chassis, somewhat soft and floppy suspension from factory. With a good suspension setup, very thick anti-roll bars and a half cage tied to the rear strut towers should give that thing similar geometry and handling to a Nissan fairlady z. BC racing has a very good line of custom buildable shock and strut combinations with valving of your choice, spring rates and everything else for very reasonable prices. They have very knowledgeable staff that can help you figure out what you need to make the best of what you have.

i have a ranger with a 2.3 turbo from a merkur, mine runs really lean right now i’m curious how you tuned your engine?
@customizer4life4 күн бұрын
@@Lurkin- At the time I was running a moates chip, but I really didn’t like the lack of data logging, towards the end of this vehicle I swapped to a megasquirt diy kit, where you build it yourself, it was great, a bit of a learning curve but great, now in the Volvo with the ford 2.3T I’m running a microsquirt and it’s amazing what that ecu can do, it connects to laptop, data logs, self tunes, has launch control, boost control, I’m even running LS coils, I highly recommend it!! It’s available from Stinger performance

I noticed you said hot rod magazine inspired you I remember when I was in highschool about The time you built this a issue talking about swaps and mentioned the 2.3 turbo but I remember a issue before my time I came across looking for 2.2/2.5 mopar builds that had every American four cylinder being made at the time and different ways to build them. That hot rid from the 80's and at the same time my grandma have a fox body LX got me into Lima's.

@@davidwoods5317 Absolutely, I remember there being a pretty sick mopar 2.2 in a caravan that was just unreal. I think the main reason I enjoyed it so much was that it was so different from the V8 stuff of the time and honestly once I drove my first turboed car….that feeling and noise….I was hooked!

I haven't used the GT3076 but I have used the GTX3071R, GTX3576R and GTX3582R. I started with the 0.63 and have used both the 0.82 and 1.03 A/R on the turbine side. The GTX3071R definitely needs the 1.03 if you want to get the max output from the compressor. The GTX3576R made no difference using the 1.03 since the compressor was already maxed out using the 0.82. I did see a difference with the 1.03 when changing the compressor to the GTX3582R. The delay on spoolup was only 150 to 200 rpm but performs much better in the upper rpm range.
@customizer4life29 күн бұрын
@@svojon It’s very interesting to hear your experience with these turbos and how much difference they make in spool delay, it’s one of those things that it’s talked about a bit, but it’s the dynamic/ real world results that mean so much more.

From my own experience you can't have enough ventilation on these engines. I use a -12 in the stock canister location and another -12 in the fuel pump block off plate. I use a single -10 on the valve cover and my catch can uses two of those air filters you have.

Did you run the stock rear axle at all with the 2.3? I am wondering at what power level they decide to give up. I have one I bought to be a "simple" street car but I usually veer off the path at some point.
@customizer4life2 ай бұрын
@@jodycook9877 I never ran the stock rear axle with the 2.3, from what I understand they don’t handle too much, of course that does depend on the style of driving. I think the only path is to veer off from a “simple” street car, plus anything that makes it more fun to drive!!
