I'm not sure I can place lnks in comments but I'll try. Here's the url for the same one I purchased: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001CLFHY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

First ride home (first ride other than taking friends bikes up and down the street), got a wave from a Harley rider, stalled at my first red light, forgot to put the kickstand down when I parked it so it fell but thankfully on grass. I'm fucking hooked man. Still got that first ride high going. She's got the right amount of torque for my 150 pound ass

Same problem 3 time use JB Weld and every time the patch comes off, and milky oil the mechanic says maybe internal crack so last try... today i drill a-holes and insert bolts after that new JB Weld and going to try a block sealer in the cooling system if don't work i will sell my boat.
@GeeWizGod2 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem with mines. My block was crack. All I did was use a grinder to dig into the crack and drilled the ends so it would stop splitting and then Jb weld it up. It’s not really holding any pressure. Just needs to stop water from coming out. It is still holding strong a year later.

The model of the engine is a Mercruiser MCM 140 with a displacement of 181 CDI. If the engine is the same as the boat I believe it's a 1982. At :25 seconds into the video I show the engine tag with all the details of the engine (except the year) If there's a way to look up the year using the serial number, it's also listed on the tag: A413253.

Can you explain to me the drilling part sir?
@rideon3653 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, you just drill a hole at each end of the crack. It's supposed to prevent the crack from continuing to grow further. Just use a drill bit rated for metal and choose a bit that's not much bigger than the width of your crack and drill 2 holes...one on each side of the crack. After that just make sure the paint from around the crack and holes has been grinded and cleaned off so the JBweld has a good surface to stick to. Best of luck!!!

@rideon3654 жыл бұрын
If you have a crack in your engine block and water is leaking into the boat, I'd first verify there's not an interior engine block crack and make sure you're not getting water in your oil. Put a water muffs on on the gearcase, turn on the water hose and run the engine for a few min. Empty your oil and verify there's no water in your oil. If the oil looks milky, the engine block is garbage and there's no way to repair the block. If the engine oil is clean then track down the exterior engine block crack (mine was under the exhaust manifold) then grind the around the crack to clear off any rust, paint and dust, then seal the crack w/ jbweld and that should be a decent fix to be able to run the boat. My JBweld repair on my boat has held up for the past 3 years with no issue. Good luck!
@3rdEye__FPV Жыл бұрын
Thats not true .. the engine block can be repaired even if the oil is milky. You just need to pull the engine and find where the leak is coming from then replace or repair.

Yes, for sure! I'm impressed with the c50 as it's a very comfortable bike with plenty of power...not to mention it looks and sounds awesome! Changing the oil on the bike is very easy too. That's one thing I really like about the c50 vs the v-star.

What do you do? Did you fixing it or
@rideon3654 жыл бұрын
@Ashley I pulled off the exhaust manifold which exposed a crack on the outside of the engine block. I ground off the metal around the crack, drilled out the corners of the crack then applied JB weld to the full length of the crack. Once it was dried I reassembled everything. The boat has now been running great for the past 3 years without any leaks or issues.

So what did you end up liking better ? I have a c50 its not a rocket ship but it gets up and goes and handles really well il be in it for a few years and probably grab a c90
@rideon3654 жыл бұрын
Both bikes have their advantages. I liked the smooth shifting on the v-star (which is weird because I believe both are wet plate clutches) but I liked the extra power on the c50. If I were to buy one right now, I'd go with the c50! It has plenty of power and has a very comfortable ride. I changed the oil on a c50 and then changed the oil on a Yamaha V-star and really liked how much easier and convenient it was to change the oil on the c50. Being able to just unscrew the filter off the bike was WAY more convenient than removing 6 screws and 2 plates that it took to get to the v-stars oil filter. Whoever the engineer was that put the oil filter in the ridiculous position on the v-star needs a slap to the face! :)
@apexsquad50784 жыл бұрын
@@rideon365 im guessing thats the yamaha 650?? And yeah the 1100 yamaha u have to take exhaust on to change oil lol!! But the c50 has some annoying things as well. The motor can be a little ticky sounding and to do a coolant change you need to take the gas tank off. But it has decent power and is good for long rides ! I love it !
@rideon3654 жыл бұрын
@@apexsquad5078 Yeah, it was on the 650. That's crazy on the 1100 that the exhaust has to be taken off. That's ridiculous!

Milky oil means crack is into a combustion chamber. Block is junk. Exception: cylinder can be sleeved if you want to go to that extent. ($$$)
@rideon3654 жыл бұрын
Milky oil doesn't always mean a crack in the combustion chamber...however if you're engine hasn't been submerged with water then yeah, it probably is a crack in the combustion chamber area. The engine block repaired in this video is still running strong today with no leaks and no milky oil. JB weld for the win!
