First you should have a spacer block at the back of the fence this would leave you a gap between the edge of the fence and your work . This will keep you safe from a kick back even better fabricate a sled for your saw.

I like this...... a lot. But I really want to see the same on the 3 other corners; where the grain is not favourable......
@Erchis-Shinee
@Erchis-Shinee 21 күн бұрын
Thank you for liking it! I agree, the grain on the other three corners isn’t ideal, but I'll try to improve it and make the overall result better.

I think that there will be a lot more trusting the process with the other corners. Grain is tough when it isn’t favorable, but you can still work around it

If you going to make something for your shed or garage then it's ok but if you want to do precise and high quality woodwork then router for home projects is the right decision.
@Erchis-Shinee
@Erchis-Shinee 22 күн бұрын
You're absolutely right! Basic tools work fine for simpler projects, but if you're aiming for more detailed craftsmanship and better results, a router is definitely worth the investment.

If you're cutting on the diagonal like that, why not make the boxes bigger so that the diagonal part is the same width as the chisel when you cut into it? It would save you from getting those marks along the outside
@Erchis-Shinee
@Erchis-Shinee Ай бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give it a try next time. Adjusting the size of the boxes to match the chisel width makes sense, especially for cleaner cuts along the edges."

Creating a personalized mark on the edge of a wooden slot is a simple yet creative way to add a unique touch to your woodworking projects. By pressing your fingers firmly against the wood and sanding around the edges, you can leave a subtle imprint of your finger shape. The result is a distinct, personal pattern that will make your piece truly one of a kind.
