Do you think its worth buying the extended warranty I bought the 4090 version because I caught i on a great sale at B&H photo? My warranty is about to expire in another month and I have had not issues with it. If you do recommend an extended warranty can you also recommend which one makes the most sense in your own opinion.

I've been having problems with power limit throttling for years on my GE76 Raider and I've wasted so much time trying to solve them by setting large time values for PL states. My CPU's TDP is just 45W, but ever since I beefed up the cooling, 45W has been way too limiting. Now I can run 90W and I'm still under 95 degrees Celsius. I was under 70 degrees with 45W which, for a high-powered notebook, might as well be 100 degrees below absolute zero.

I went with the Raider because it performs better and is much more stable with two sticks of RAM @ 64g compared to 4 sticks @ 128g in the Titan in which the 4 channel allocation bogs it down and cuts the mhz... Plenty of Titan owners have confirmed this as well as my contact with an MSI tech on the matter...

I’ll add a few things now testing in working with an M18 R2 (after evaluating two of them) and doing a lot of reading. First, Element 31 is “dry”, and it isn’t quite as good as a good regular paste BUT it’s better over time, not drying out as it’s designed to be “dry”. There are definitely differences in the units and the second one I tested with is much cooler than the first. This should in theory prevent a need later for a re-paste. Second, the temps are indeed pulled down well via these methods though and this was very helpful. DPC latency due to both Nvidia’s framework and the Intel Rapid Storage both plague the system though, core unpacking and tweaking power settings helps, but it doesn’t solve it even after driver updates.

Almost 2 years since I got the laptop and had to re-paste the CPU/GPU, the paste was almost gone. Also the motherboard had paste for other components but that paste was fine. The problem I'm having is that the laptop gets hot even idle (at the time of writing this comment only running Chrome). Repasting helped a bit with the thermals but still hot, specially at the area above the keyboard.

If this blows air into your laptop faster than your fans are blowing it will spin your fans faster than they should be. If your fans are sucking faster than this or of the air cooler is off then the seal may starve your fans of air. Somebody please tell me I'm wrong. I want to be wrong.

I got one a few weeks ago and run it using discrete graphics mode,extreme performace with my own custom fan settings and just wow,playing black myth wukong and space marine 2 and its just amazing 4k ultra settings,around 78c on cpu and around 60c on gpu,with a more cpu intensive game like total war warhammer 3 the cpu temps were between 80-90c,im happy with it but i would recommend setting up the fans yourself with your own curve.

They need to offer a free update cable and firmware patch. I own 3 of these. LiFePO4 is the only way to fly, but holy crap do we not have any competition here. I have to have an old Lead Acid UPS powering nothing just for the USB connection to tell Linux to shut my thing down. Then the fans and alarm are still screaming at my sleeping family the whole time. I'm going to have to rig up a Rapberry Pi just to press the power buttons on these things. Sad!
