Interesting choices. Based on your Sadeas and Nivani picks, Mamoa is way too young for Dalinar. Mamoa is 45, but the others are in their 70s. However, I think Mamoa is the better of these choices and would probably try to find actors in his cohort for the other roles.

Did you watch the Night Watch adaptation?

Most people do say animated for SA but i agree with live action! But maybe after book 5 (first arc) and then by the time the show is "done", maybe books 6-10 will be ready :)

I personally think most fantasy books would work best animated. Animation has the best ability to really showcase the extravagant nature that is part of fantasy. Now there are a few exceptions of course but I just really like how animation has no limits while cgi unfortunately does, especially when budget plays a huge part. Sadly I know animation is the least picked because there is still this annoying stigma of “cartoons are for kids” nonsense. Animations is my favorite medium and I’d love to see more fantasy books portrayed in it.

I am probably past 10 re reads of Dune, and about 6-7 re reads of the entire series. Always amazes me how many who have not read them all decide to stop at first. Was happy to see D Greene state the same then read 4, and blown away by God Emperor, but then has decided to stop there. Book 5&6 are also brilliant, more modern, more action, and all BG based. Dar is one of my all time favourite female characters ❤ Do people think his writing gets worse as he published more books ? Not the case. Last two we have a coming of age story for Duncan, a full new threat to the entire empire, politics upon politics and the ultimate discourse about religion…. And the impacts from Paul and Leto’s choices. Reading just Dune is like stopping at the Fellowship of the Ring
