I've never been to any ocean. I enjoy seeing people surf. This wave is nasty school sickness. Props to the dudes riding this wave. Terrifying.

Wow what a fancy wave!

Great job, an my first exposure to this wave. Having learned to surf in the late 70's, I've always thought towing in was kind of cheating. I know these are fantastic athletes, and most of the giant mutant waves have been paddled into at some point. I know the jetski gives you the speed to takeoff deeper & get the most out of the waves. But even today's paddle sessions, somewhere, in the back of your mind, if you get in trouble someone will try and swoop in, pick you up, and carry you back to the lineup or shore. In the olden days, when we'd paddle out,all you had was: knowledge of the break, your skills & awareness, & if you're lucky your crew might help get you out of trouble. That being said, cheers to all the surfers, photogs, & ski drivers to allow this landlocked old man feel the sensation of getting wet again. This fall I plan to head to OC, MD & ride Assateugue & the Indian River Inlet. Who knows maybe I'll catch a hurricane, or northeaster. Thanks for posting, I'll be checking out your other vids.

Amazing footage. I finally had the privilge to see Nazare in person and this video fills in the imagination of what big waves would look like. The wave breaking as people watch from the cliff is the shot I was hoping to see. The wave must seem insane in person.

What a slab, it's still holding that dude went over the falls down on the bottom to this day today. This seems like the skiing equivalent of bombing a line you know you know in all certainty is going to slide, but doing it anyway because you can.
