Friday the 13th has NEVER been a Halloween knockoff. It even started with a woman as the killer in the first entry. Jason, despite still being a “walking large guy carrying a weapon”, always gets more creative than Michael and has a very different backstory, motives, and design. Also, Within the Woods is better than you’d expect if you’re an Evil Dead fan, you can see aspects that they implemented in the films they made later, like the Kandarian dagger, being chopped up, and others, but I’d have to watch it again to remember all of the details I picked up from the first time.

I should have been more clear w my writing. When I say it’s a knock off it’s bc I’m referring to a quote made by either the director or producers of the film who claimed they were trying to rip off halloween essentially. I haven’t seen Within the woods in full, but it def has Raimi’s signature style which is cool

@ Within the Woods is a blast, I struggled to find it for a while but eventually it showed up on Internet Archive. Also, at some points it is hard to watch due to the camera quality.

Am i the only one that thinks Halloween is overrated? Its pretty boring. "Black Christmas" did alot of what that film did but better. And yes Friday the 13th happened because of Halloween's success but its not a rip off. It does its own thing for the most part and follows the slasher formula which existed before Halloween.

@@evecates2232 Halloween is difficult to rate for sure. I personally do find it really boring, too. In the 70’s, though, I imagine it must have been pretty fresh. I call Friday the 13th a ripoff bc the director himself (or a producer I forget who exactly) claims his goal was to rip off halloween. Their words, not mine

@@bool_master ah is see. I didn't know about that. Black Christmas came before Halloween in 1974. So it wasn't really fresh for what it did. But I guess if no one saw Black Christmas it's easy to say that. Which is a shame since its a GREAT slasher film. If anything you can say Halloween ripped off Black Christmas. Loved the video btw

awesome video! but kind of shocked that the 2019 oral history article from entertainment weekly wasn’t referenced at all here. it adds a whole new layer to the entire danielle “fakeout” aspect - i won’t spoil it, but it was much less of a pure game move than he played off at first! especially because it plays heavily into your statement about how things on the feeds sometimes don’t get to the tv screen, changing the public perception edit: just realized you used a screenshot near the end, so i’d be interested to hear your perspective on not referencing it. it does make things a bit more convoluted, but i think overall it’s nice to have the full story

@@narrowstairs7 hey! I’ll give my thinking. The way I see it is this video is great for someone who doesn’t know a thing about big brother. They can get the main ideas. I felt like the video as is covers the essential parts of the funeral. While the article contains a lot of interesting details, I felt like it could possibly derail the storytelling aspect of the video. I figured if anyone is compelled enough they would seek that information themselves (perhaps a bit naive on my end) But yeah that’s basically it. I did read the whole article and I also watched taran armstong’s 2 hour analysis for research and I took what I personally felt was 100% necessary

The only problem with Dan’s game in BB14 that he was completely flawless with in BB10 was jury management. He was just so cold at times to people in BB14 that they didn’t care how well he played but that he had made them feel bad. He didn’t really have that problem in BB10.

Dude, top 3 youtube channels with less than 10k subscribers that very well could have hundred of thousands. I enjoy them a lot, and especially this one is super cool because I love when someone excels at ANY game somehow, thinking outside of the box, breaks the game somehow, or just makes some power moves. Silent Hill 2 remake next month, maybe we both look forward to it. :) Also I came here because of the melee content, but like the new stuff as well, even more actually because I get to be surprised because I've devoured every story line several times by now when it comes to melee. XD
