I just happened to come upon this video by chance, when I notice the fretboard oil/cleaner that you are using says on the label that is not meant for maple fretboards. At least it says that on the new 65 Dunlop’s containers. I know this because I was using it on a maple board and found out afterwards. Is that a maple board?

HI Peter. What do you think of the Sire V7? Can it compete with your other basses worth 10x more of its price? I wanted to get a budget bass worth 1-1.5k USD.

Sire v7 is amazing quality bass, just weight is a bit heavy. And, it's known as 'budget' bass, so I don't feel I'm going to use for professional recordings and projects for my own. If you want to be more artistic and professional, you wanna try american Fender at least. If you find Fender ultra jazz, vintage, etc, (you can get the used 1.5k) that would be awesome!

As one who hires bass players for gigs I always get a kick out of watching them demo a bass at these kind of events. They play stuff literally nobody would pay them to play or would ever want them to play. None of the working pros even go to these things.

Hi Bill, thanks for your comment. However, I disagree with you because the NAMM is for pro music business industry event. Basically who plays there, the get paid and known in the music industry. One of ‘Pro’ musicians skills is showing off as well. That’s why we practice instruments, but I get your points though 🙏

Thank you 🙏 you’re right. It’s close to flat. Bass boosted a bit with a drive! Aguilar tone hammer gives the warm tone pretty good

I think it is not only the tone issue, it has intonation issues.

@@PeterkleemusicI believe the intonation issue is coming from the fretting template they were using when they were built. It cannot be fixed afterwards. Probably example Warwick and the fender definitely has different template when installing the frets.
