Factory turbo. Like as in it's a turbo that came out of a factory? I don't think Mitsubishi ever made a turbo that any point in time that is capable of flowing as many pounds a minute is that bad mfer is huffing in that vid. I'm guessing probably a 600 all wheel horsepower or better car right there. This dude is racing for money, the damn back bumper on the DSM was attacked by a sawzall to reduce drag on the top end, I'm certain that GTR is not stock probably maxed out stock turbos and those are wicked fast. The right car certainly won though! I was blessed to have a 90 AWD TSi that I spent every penny I had on to make it first fast and then making the drivetrain reliable became another mission since I was retarded kid and would repeatedly launch the damn thing off of the rev limiter lol. I don't think I could spill a mechanical sympathy back then lol.. Considering I over easily doubled the stock horsepower for only a couple thousand dollars all in (I installed an Evo 3 16g after the 14b look like being spun with absolute limit with a clamped wastegate rod became tiresome right it lasted YEARS.... incredibly lol) having to spend a couple thousand dollars on a transmission and another thousand'ish on a second hand built transfer case was really a steal. They are simply the nastiest little bastards a SMART but poor man can build. Fools will say things like they're unreliable but they simply got a bad rep because they were inexpensive cars that you can make a lot of power with. They drew a lot of younger people that had absolutely no clue what they were doing to buy them and then the kids simply sabotaged the cars with the obliviousness of the ignorant and the rampant lack of mechanical sympathy only a dumb kid can muster. Trust me I learned to work on cars through my first DSM and I went from being a kid with barely a clue to a full-blown highly competent goddamn mechanic over the course of a couple years. Started chasing idle surge and finished making sure I didn't have compressor surge lol. I'm glad to see that they've come a long way too since i had mine. Hell on the stock 14b turbo ported, fmic and piping kit, a spec six puck w/ spec flywheel, open 3" downpipe, evo 8 maf and 650 cc njectors backed by twin 255 lph walboro'si the darn thing consistently ran lowish 11s on beloved c16 116 octane race fuel and all the weight I could possibly get of that sob stripped out. The really beautiful thing about that setup is not only was it dirt cheap but it required no outside tuning because the u08 math and the injectors match each other and equal out basically all I would do is play with the fuel pressure a little to get it within the ECU's range of conversation and turn that old CAS back a little to commentate for the car running a little more timing than i wanted making much power. The evaway math basically read lower CFM than the factory MAF So you're running in timing tables you don't want to be in lol. HKS VPC, 3-in GM maf w/controller or SAFC were the go to simple Man's fine tuning tools back in the Stone age but I really found it the setup didn't need it at all as long as I got the fuel pressure to bring all the way with an easy correction range for the ecu. I used to blast C6 Z06's stop light to stop light and I had about as much in the car as those forcing the bushes did in a few payments. Some piece of crap stole the car when he decided to turn into a piece of shit instead of running a shop. When I saw parts of appearing on other people's cars I was going to go murder him but luckily I had good friends... I had The Good Fortune to buy in Audi S4 3.0 t after and it made one hell of a daily driver, especially compared to the DSM lol, but damn it I would have been much happier with both...

Not bad for all nos no boost , but only a idiot will put stock head gasket with 13.1 comprecion pustons and then spray it with more than a 50 shot lol , put a triple plated gasket with bolts on runs 10's all day

I saw this car in redline. I still can't believe the whole b18c is still running on standard crank and sump. Everything else is forged. But Jesus does it fly. I loved it when I read in the mag and still love it now
