@MathewVsSportsMediaandGames18 күн бұрын
Not sure about faster, but the bikes have become way more advanced. One could legitimately say that Ryan Villopoto paved the way to that, along with using some of the James Stewart whips (or scrubs if you want to call it that) as well.

15:00 I vividly remember RC dropping an f-bomb when Art Eckman interviewed him for the live stream broadcast. He was so furious after losing 2 in a row to Reed. 😆 *also: a lot of people forget that Eckman returned in 2003 as a part-time track reporter after retiring from the ESPN team.
@MathewVsSportsMediaandGames21 күн бұрын
Well, even though Ricky didn't verbally show it on TV, he WAS very pissed after this race for sure. I definitely knew that the late Art Eckman went to the Internet broadcast as a pit reporter after he left the broadcast booth after 2002 SX myself. He was definitely the GOAT of play-by-play during my tenure; I just wish it was more longer than the most of 5 1/4 seasons for me.

it was weird why did reed have the red plate while being 3 points behind? old rule?
@MathewVsSportsMediaandGames27 күн бұрын
It was an old rule, but at the same time, it was also an introductory rule in a way. The AMA made running the #1 mandatory for the defending champ, but the red plate on the champ year-round was for Supercross only while the red plate in Motocross was for the points leader(s). I don't think it was changed until the 2012 Supercross season where the red plate had to be run by the points leader(s).
