I believe you are right. I don't have this problem before as the DIY Dremel CNC has a wooden bed. So what I will do when machining metals is to insulate the stock from the aluminium bed by having a non conductive waste board in between.

Congrats on the build! I have a few questions: is the BLDC spindle from the old CNC any good? You said it burned off. Is the spindle the limiting factor when taking bigger cuts or the ridgidity of the machine?
@keanorobotics9219
@keanorobotics9219 3 жыл бұрын
the BLDC from the old CNC is working great and the spindle that burned off was the brushed dc spindle. In my old CNC, the rigidity is the limiting factor. If you have a much more rigid machine the 500w BLDC spindle can achieve a lot more with much better surface finish.

@explorerrobotics7269
@explorerrobotics7269 3 жыл бұрын
@@keanorobotics9219 Thanks for the reply. It does not look like the robotC forum exist anymore. I can google it but can't reach it. For basic robotC programming, its own document is good enough. However, for more advanced topics, I found that it is hard to get help. For example, I know the build-in PID control can be enabled (or disabled) via motor configuration. But what if I want to enable it for some movements and disable it for others? I don't found a function which allow me to enable/disable PID control programmatically.
