not a catholic but liked the chat; the role of the 'parish priest' has been usurped by 'counsellors', but they lack any higher dimension. . .I think we crave that, and to go back to the village

You are so right! It gets very hard to do sometimes with challenges like a progressive chronic illness and your message is what I am trying to do to fight back depression. Just a few days ago I told myself to try very hard to look at what I am grateful for and have also totally realized that it has to be unconditional gratitude. Obviously I can’t predict the future, and if I hope that what I am grateful for will happen again then that expectation can become negative so I am unconditionally grateful for what Jesus has given me today and His choices for what tomorrow will bring is part of the path he has chosen. I’m not sure if that makes sense but I feel it helps me to be less sad. This can be very hard to do depending on each person journey. Thank you for your message!

Every day i stuggle to remove my biases and see the doors open to me by God. Listening and trusting the Holy Spirit is not always easy after i have been defending what i did wrong rather than fix it by listenig to God so i can see the doors he has opened. Mary gives me the strength not only to intercede but to open my eyes to the help God sends. I feel, as She is ths mother, she tells me to listen to your Father?

I needed this message today. Had a rough day yesterday. God just gave me the biggest hug through the voice of Father Romke. ❤

Sometimes it is about a touch to someone’s hand if you see they are sad, and telling someone they not alone without asking why they feel that way. Don’t judge, maybe try to be there for another, like Jesus is there in the moments we are sad and alone. I try to listen to Him everyday. Thanks for your message! Have a great Friday!

I’m trying to figure a few things out….Is this like moving from only doing a task for a reason, rather than feeling the purpose of a task and the reason you’re doing it? Should then the leap of faith and the belief of Christ and his teachings be foundational aspect of the reason we do even the smallest tasks? Out of love? Wow, this is hard to do!

Beautiful message Father that I think we all forget about all of the time! We need to pause a moment and take in God’s beauty…whether it’s a beautiful sunrise or sunset it was because of God we are seeing that…appreciate it and enjoy the moment! Have a great trip and thanks for doing these reflections while on vacation!

You’re right in that I say let your Will be done and not mine but am I truly believing that in my heart…I also love the idea of saying Jesus I Trust in You with my Rosary beads…this was especially impactful because I’m wearing my Jesus I Trust in You T-shirt…God moment?

It is Truly Awesome the means which God uses to inspire us all if we have the ears and eyes of Faith. Thank you, Father, for this short but powerful inspiration and consolation. Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever!

Great message Father! Something I read a long time ago really stuck with me. It said Get Comfortable in the Uncomfortable. Meaning growth only happens when you do the difficult things or the uncomfortable things. I started working out again about a year and a half ago at 57...let me tell you the first few months were not fun...but I stuck with it and I feel so much better today. That mom's statement is truly amazing, and I loved hearing that. Thank you for these messages!

Great message Father and what a great way to tie the message into our lives. On the other note…you have to do a post cook of that brisket! I’ve smoked them before and they are incredible and I hear amazing things about those Sous vide cookers…

What a great message Father! Something we should always be doing but making it a front of mind conscious thought is powerful! I'm going to start with making the positive impact on 10 people each day...
