@zogmorp from what I read, they wanted the hit boxes to match as close to the original as possible. Thats why some of the sprites looked squashed.

The HD version was a poor version as far as gameplay. This version is very good and true to the original. Anyone who has been playing Street Fighter 2 for as long as I have, will understand why it's important to stick to the original formula and not add in special features for one iteration of the game out of 20 that were released

The netcode is fine, it's that 90%+ of the Switch playerbase is on Wi-Fi. I picked up the Mahvel collection on Switch to try it, and the Wi-Fi warriors coupled with a few exclusive Switch glitches made it just awful compared to PS4/PS5/PC. I'd bet money it's why your matches felt bad, Capcoms rollback they use in these older titles and MVC Infinite+SF6 is really good. The laggiest matches I had in the Mahvel collection were all on Switch in a few hours, compared to about a 100 hours on PSN.

@capemron6330 i was kinda hoping that Capcom would've ported this game on either PS4 or Xbox One for that very reason. Sadly, that never happened.

Good video on a game that I really like. Not sure if you know... Shin Akuma is selectable with a code, but he was added in a software update. Other things this game needs: 1) 3DO/PC version arranged soundtrack. It's alot better than this game's arranged music. 2) Better color editor. For example, Guile is stuck with brown in his camo pattern as it can't be changed!? The lame rainbow portraits for color edited characters is also a letdown. 3) Cool juggles from HD remix like Sagat's triple short Tiger Knee which juggled. 4) Better added characters, like Shin Bison, Juli, Juni, and Decapre. I hope we can eventually get some kind of upgraded Ultra SF4 for the Switch so I can play it portably. Subbed 👍

I'll never understand the criticism of this port. I owned it, played it and loved it. It's one of the most impressive home ports ever. I only wish they could've placed the 3 second delay somewhere before the announcer says "Fight!". It's the worst time to not be able to move.😄
@Nokout212 ай бұрын
@Kevin-r6s6o the criticism comes from many angles. The decompression of the sound data wasn't well optimized, that's why there is loading. Arcade purists ragged on it cause it didn't play accurately. But all honestly... it got close enough. I consider it a great port.

Re: there were no games… It really came down to personal preference too. I really enjoyed SoulCalibur, Power Stone, VF 3tb, Virtua Tennis, MvC2, Crazy Taxi, HoTD2, Quake 3 and everything else the Dreamcast had to offer. I realized that SquareSoft and EA were missing on the Dreamcast but I didn’t play RPGs and didn’t really care for sports all that much. I played NFL 2k1 and enjoyed it for online play but didn’t yearn for Madden and other EA games. My nephew had a PlayStation so I played MGS and earlier RE games there. I enjoyed RE:CV on the Dreamcast. Later on I also got a PS2 to enjoy MGS2

@ShahedChowdhuri Sega also needed to bring some franchises back. Ecco and Phantasy Star were cool. But where was Eternal Champions, Streets of Rage, and Shining Force? They needed to supplement their library with games of yesteryear to bring back the fans they lost with the Saturn.

PlayStation 2 games were uninteresting and Sega games weren't the same after they went 3rd party (Original Xbox was the exception). But after the death of the Dreamcast in North America I moved on to the Japanese scene where they were still making games for it, and started importing games like Capcom vs SNK 2, Ikaruga, Red, KOF 01 and so on. I stayed faithful to The Dreamcast even right now I even rid my ps2-4 to rebuild my Dreamcast collection which I'm not going to do because I can't afford it now. Anyway what Im trying to video games ended with me with the Dreamcast and I rather have it over a PS5. My first import was KOF 01 and CVS2 thanks to my Dad.

2001 was such a bittersweet year with Sega last year mostly supporting Dreamcast Were you on Seganet back then? We actually downloaded patches an game updates thru it I loved that there was a vmu page where we could upload/download save files for our games They really checked our saves before posting too! I had San Fransisco Rush 2049, Sega Marine Fishing, Soulcalibur, Hydro Thunder, House of the Dead 2 saves all on there Better yet all those saves are still intact on the vmus today! I was a whole 19yrs old then angrily saying, they’ll never be another game system with a launch lineup on Dreamcast level! 25yrs later correct an then some hahaha
@Nokout213 ай бұрын
Sega Net was something of a pipe dream. I always wanted to play PSO and browse the web. But I was still in school, and my grades aren't good enough to allow for a part-time job. Still, it sounds neat that you could upload and download saves. The friend i kept mentioning managed to download custom art and spray paint them in Jet Grind Radio. And you are right. The launch line up has yet to be beat. It seems that there is nothing good to buy on these modern consoles until a year after launch.

Sega could have gone FULL multiplatform support. AKA releasing new games on the dreamcast too despite not selling the dreamcast anymore for as long as they could. It was the least they could do to their customers.

I was wondering if the author can implant. Horizontal split screen kinda like Road Rash 3 Also the option to have minimal status on single player screen and split screen Last the control scheme which is simple as a default for six button X= cycle weapons down Y= open door and run button Z= cycle weapons up A= Strafe left B= fire weapon C= strafe Left Start + Y = map Or Mode click = map Seems like a reasonable control schemes especially for people who has a miyoo mini+ or a trimui smart and the control scheme are closly related to PSX and SNES lay out. So right there be a perfect solution to L1 and R1 to strife and the rest of the buttons you can use your imagination how some one wants to bind the rest of the 4 buttons. Wonder if the author can read this or someone can send him a PM be nice to have a minor update to version 3.2

Honestly, I would like it if a second FX chip, and some more custom chips, were added to an expanded remade port of Doom for the same console, and there would be several quality of life improvements, like, say, E1M8B, a.k.a., Tech Gone Bad, E1M10, Sewers, the episodes of Thy Flesh Consumed, Sigil, and Sigil II, the custom Sega Saturn, and Sony PS1 exclusive levels re tooled for the same system, and the Doom 64 levels being split between it and Doom II, alongside Final Doom, or just simply make 6 Episodes of 12 Missions each for Doom and Doom II: Hell on Earth, split up the Doom 64 levels, convert them to look like Doom, Doom II: Hell on Earth, and Final Doom levels, toss in the Sega Saturn/Sony PS1 Doom exclusive levels, then add some levels to Final Doom, then toss in No Rest for the Wicked and The Master Levels to Doom II: Hell on Earth, then add more textures, add some more frames of animation, more animation poses, and the correct enemy yells, and grunts, to the enemies that are in the game, make one massive cartridge, and then you have the ultimate port of the first three Doom games on the same cartridge. You could call it Doom: The Ultimate Retro Collection, and have a mode where it plays out where all of the episodes link together, and, in Doom II: Hell on Earth, and Final Doom, they also have Episodes and Missions, rather than just Levels, and they actually get rearranged somewhat to make the Episode boss fights happen if you want to play the games in the new Doom Quest Mode.

😂 The cartridge would cost as much a Neo Geo AES and maybe a couple of games.
